Job Responsibilities

We are now looking for a support pedagogue for Daily Activities according to LSS (Act concerning Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments).

Work within Daily Activities means offering participants a meaningful and developmental occupation based on each individual's needs and prerequisites. The work is characterized by respect for the participants' right to self-determination and integrity, with the goal of promoting independence and participation.

A large part of the assignment consists of motivational and support work, which requires an understanding of the participants' different needs and prerequisites.

The position is located at Skånes Djurpark (Scania Zoo), where the work group consists of two employees: a support pedagogue and a support assistant. The number of participants varies, but the group usually comprises around eight people who receive daily support in various service-oriented tasks within the zoo's operations.

Qualifications

The requirements for the position are education as a support pedagogue or other education that the employer considers equivalent. Experience of working within LSS activities is also a requirement.

It is meritorious if you have knowledge in:

• Low-affective approach (calm and supportive interaction)
• PECS/Signs as Alternative and Augmentative Communication (AAC)
• Structured Teaching according to TEACCH

It is meritorious if you have experience of working within LSS activities, preferably within daily activities.

We are looking for you who are calm, secure, and have great patience. You work in a structured manner with clear frameworks, while also having the ability to adapt your working methods and approach based on the situation and the participants' individual needs.

The work places high demands on responsibility, flexibility, initiative, collaboration skills, and good communication. You have a respectful approach, good empathetic ability, and see the value in good collaboration with colleagues and other actors.

We value that you are solution-focused, take own initiative, and have a strong commitment to supporting and promoting people's development based on their prerequisites.

The work involves a lot of outdoor work year-round and presupposes that you enjoy working outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Documentation is an important part of the assignment, which means you need to be able to express yourself well in spoken and written Swedish.

A B-driver's license is required.
