The Swedish Land Survey (Lantmäteriet) is the authority responsible for mapping Sweden. Our tasks also include registering and securing the ownership of all real estate properties and managing their boundaries. We are now looking for you who have a strong commitment to society.

The cross-authority operations area consists of supporting and governing units that assist the other operational areas of the Swedish Land Survey. Here, you ensure that daily operations run smoothly! About the Role

The Legal Operations Area is one of several centrally organized operational areas within the Swedish Land Survey. This position is located at the unit Legal Support for Property Registration, where fourteen lawyers currently work. The unit's overarching mission is to work towards uniform and effective application of the law throughout the Property Registration area, including the management, through legal advice. In addition to supporting Property Registration, the unit may also support other operations within the authority.

We provide expert support in a wide range of civil law areas, covering both operational and strategic issues. Our subject areas include, but are not limited to, inheritance and succession law, family law, property law, corporate law, public law, contract law, and tax law.

Your Responsibilities

Your tasks will include, among other things:

• Providing legal support in case processing.
• Drafting statements for courts.
• Developing legal investigations and positions.
• Planning and implementing internal competence development initiatives.
• Working with our handbooks and regulations.
• Participating in development projects, etc.

Within the unit, we also work with official comments, legislative development, continuous improvements, and quality follow-up.

Location and Work Environment

The Swedish Land Survey's headquarters are located in Gävle, but there is an opportunity for placement at one of the authority's other offices. The majority of daily work takes place in a digital environment, as employees are located in different parts of the country and support colleagues nationwide. Travel within the role is included when job duties require it. Your place of work will be at one of the Swedish Land Survey's offices by agreement.

Qualifications and Merits

We are looking for you who have a Law Candidate (Jurist) or Master of Laws (Juris) degree from the law program or the business law program.

You need to have very good legal knowledge in several civil law areas such as family law, inheritance and succession law, corporate law, property law, as well as administrative law. You have extensive experience in independent, qualified legal work at courts, state and/or municipal authorities, law firms, companies, or equivalent.

It is an advantage if you have experience of completed notarial service or other experience from the courts.

Note: The position is security-classified, which means you must be a Swedish citizen and a passed security clearance is a prerequisite for employment.
