Temporary Coordinator for Support and Training – Maana
MAANAVästra Götalands län, Göteborg
Previous experience is desired
Maana was founded in 2010 and is today one of Sweden's largest women's shelters. We are now looking for a temporary coordinator who, together with a colleague, will work with the organization's support and training activities.
The position is a parental leave substitute at 80%. The start date is tentatively in October/November 2026 or as agreed. Since the exact date for the regular employee's parental leave has not yet been determined, the start date and duration of the temporary position may be adjusted. We will be transparent about the conditions throughout the entire recruitment process.
Main responsibilities
As a coordinator responsible for support and training, you will work closely with a colleague, sharing responsibility for the voluntary support activities and the association's training efforts. The role involves coordinating, developing, and ensuring the quality of parts of the operations, as well as contributing to Maana reaching more young people and adults around young people.
You will work with:
- Coordination and development of voluntary support activities
- Recruitment, training, and supervision of volunteers
- Planning and implementation of internal and external training
- Delivering lectures, workshops, and training sessions
- Quality development, routines, documentation, and follow-up
- Contact with volunteers, partners, and external actors
- Contributing to sustainability, long-term viability, and accessibility in support activities
- Operational planning and development work within the association
- External representation
We are looking for you who
We are looking for someone who stands behind Maana's feminist values and wants to work for a gender-equal society free from violence and oppression. You have a strong commitment to the rights of children and young people and want to help develop a support service where young people are listened to, believed, and taken seriously.
You have experience in training, supervising, or speaking in front of groups. You also have knowledge about young people, mental health, violence, vulnerability, and supportive conversations. Since the role involves both coordination and development work, you need to be structured, self-motivated, and confident in driving processes forward. You also need to enjoy working closely with a colleague, sharing responsibility, and finding good ways of working together.
We believe that you:
- Have experience in support activities, social work, education, or voluntary organization
- Have good skills in coordinating, planning, and following up on work
- Are confident in delivering training, lectures, and workshops
- Have knowledge of different forms of violence and the specific vulnerability of children and young people
- Are proficient in using digital tools and digital communication
- Express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing
- Enjoy working both independently and collaboratively
- Have a norm-critical and inclusive approach
It is meritorious if you have post-secondary education in fields such as social work, pedagogy, behavioral science, gender studies, public health, or other relevant directions. It is also meritorious if you have experience in the voluntary sector, volunteer coordination, supervision, MI (Motivational Interviewing), or other counseling or supervision methods.
We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
In the role, you will be an important contact person for volunteers, colleagues, and external actors. This requires sensitivity, clarity, and the ability to build trust. You need to be able to keep many parts together at the same time, prioritize when conditions change, and contribute stability even when the work is intensive.
We are looking for someone who is engaged, responsible, and unpretentious. You are confident in meetings with people, have good cooperation skills, and want to contribute to a workplace where we help each other, think together, and develop operations based on the needs of young people.
About the workplace
Maana is a feminist, politically and religiously independent non-profit association. The association is based in Gothenburg and operates throughout Västra Götaland, as well as having a national support service. Maana currently consists of six employees and approximately 100 volunteers who together receive around 3,000 support conversations per year in our online support service via chat, website, email, and app.
The association runs a training activity where we target adults who, in various ways, encounter children and young people. The association works based on a three-year strategy, where the operations have clear goals and are continuously followed up.
Interviews take place continuously, with breaks during the holiday period.
