About the School

Tallbackaskolan is a primary school (grades F-6) with approximately 325 students, a leisure-time center department, and two preparatory classes. The school is located in a residential area between Gällivare and Malmberget. At Tallbackaskolan, we work with parts of the "Gällivare Model," which means that in each class in grades 1–2, there is a teaching teacher and a class mentor. In grades 3–6, a teaching teacher works supported by a class mentor, who may be linked to one or several classes. The central student health services are located at the school, giving students access to a school counselor, school nurse, two special needs educators, a school psychologist, and the principals. The leisure-time center complements the school by developing students' abilities through various forms of expression, based on their interests.

Responsibilities

As a teacher, you will be responsible for teaching. You prepare, plan, conduct, and evaluate students' progress and your own teaching based on the national curriculum. You collaborate closely with guardians. Most of our pedagogical staff also work as responsible mentors for a class.

Qualifications

You have a teacher's degree with eligibility for grades 4–6. You should be responsible, clear, and driven, and have an easy time building good relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues. We value engagement, solution-focus, innovation, and the ability to collaborate. Personal suitability is of great importance.

In accordance with the National Minority Language Act, Gällivare Municipality is the administrative municipality for Sami, Meänkieli, and Finnish. Knowledge of one of these languages is meritorious when applying for employment in Gällivare Municipality.

An extract from the police record of criminal convictions is required before employment.

Working Hours/Duration

Full-time, permanent position. Probationary period may apply.
