The nature schools Axevalla Horse Centre, Svenljunga, Sötåsen, Uddetorp, and the Biological University College function as competence centers for the growth and development of the green industries. Together with businesses and researchers, the administration drives energy projects and pilot activities at the forefront on the schools. Description

At Axevalla Horse Centre between Skara and Skövde, you will find everything you could wish for in terms of horses. We offer upper secondary education, adult education, and vocational higher education (YH) in the disciplines of equestrian sports, harness racing, and Icelandic horse sports. We also offer farrier training at the YH level. As a school, we work actively with various sports federations; Swedish Trotting Association, Swedish Equestrian Federation, and Swedish Icelandic Horse Association. We are a certified Quality Marked Horse Upper Secondary School according to HYN's requirements.

Our goal is for all students to reach as far as possible in their learning. We know that a skilled, experienced, and curious teacher with positive expectations of the students in teaching makes a difference. We aim to prepare students for working life or further studies, and your biggest task is to guide students there.

Responsibilities

As a vocational teacher in machinery and technical equipment, you are responsible for the planning, implementation, and follow-up of teaching in these areas and related subject areas across all school forms offered at the school. The teaching takes place both theoretically and practically in the school's premises and on the facility.

The responsibilities include:

• Guiding students in practical tasks, both individually and in groups.
• Assessing and documenting students' knowledge development.
• Participating in teamwork and the school's development work.
• Collaborating with colleagues, guardians, and the industry.
• Contributing to a safe and inclusive learning environment.

The vocational teacher role gives you a unique opportunity to combine professional expertise with pedagogical work. The role also includes responsibility for the facility's vehicles and participation in the joint maintenance and operation of the facility.

Qualifications

We are looking for you with education at least at the upper secondary level, preferably within vehicles/technology. It is meritorious with a suitable university degree or vocational higher education (YH) within the field.

You have good theoretical and practical knowledge within vehicles/technology/construction. You should also be interested in adopting new technology.

It is meritorious if you are a trained vocational teacher and have experience teaching at the upper secondary level. You are pedagogically inclined and can meet students both individually and in groups.

You are flexible, goal-oriented, and take initiative for collaboration with colleagues.

A driver's license B for manual transmission is a requirement. Additional qualifications are meritorious.

Conditions
