Nya Munken
Nya Munken in Linköping is one of Sweden's larger independent foundation schools. The school was established in 1993 and provides education for grades 7–9. We have dedicated staff with high competence. The school is organized into work teams and has four development leaders who continuously provide professional development for the staff. Our core values are to create security, be engaged, and think new. The school should be a safe and stable place where all students are seen, have equal value, and can develop based on their own prerequisites and ambitions. The school's ambition is to give students good knowledge, enabling them to do well in upper secondary school and get a good start in life.
Responsibilities
As a Special Educator at Nya Munken, you are part of the school's student health team. Together with a colleague special educator and other members of the student health team, you work to provide support and remove obstacles for learning, so that students develop as far as possible towards both knowledge goals and other goals in the steering documents. This means that you:
- provide support and guidance regarding learning environments
- observe teaching and provide follow-up supervision
- guide in the design of assessments and are responsible for investigating special support needs and creating action plans
- are involved in designing and following up on the student health team's systematic quality work
Qualifications

- are engaged and attentive in the role of special educator and work and supervise with a focus on the individual, group, and organization
- are well acquainted with the task of mapping students' strengths and difficulties as well as routines for following up on these
- work with critically reviewing and applying methods to assess student development and adapting working methods based on student needs
- have good self-insight, are confident in yourself and in your pedagogical leadership. You work independently and are flexible
- remain calm and controlled in stressful situations
- maintain a realistic perspective on situations and focus and prioritize the right things
Requirements
- Degree in Special Education or Special Teacher Education
Merits
- Previous experience of special educational work within primary school
- Experience of supervision and classroom observations for special educational purposes
Other
We place great emphasis on personal suitability. The position requires good knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing. An extract from the criminal record is required for work in preschools and schools. Interviews take place continuously during the application period.
