Do you have a positive outlook on life, a strong commitment to language development, and a desire to make a difference in a multicultural area? Then you might be the person we are looking for! We offer an exciting and developmental fixed-term position as a special needs teacher until 2028-06-16.

About Hammarkullsskolan – Together for everyone to succeed!

Hammarkullsskolan is located in northeastern Gothenburg and is a school filled with engagement and hope for the future. Our operations consist of two school units: a primary school from preschool class to grade 3 (approximately 150 students distributed across two parallel classes) and an adapted primary school for grades 1–6 (37 students distributed across five classes). Our vision is clear – we work together to ensure every student reaches their full potential.

Job Responsibilities

As a special needs teacher with us, you will step into an ongoing, goal-oriented project with a strong focus on language development and student influence. You will work closely with teachers and other staff in grades 2 and 3, as well as at the after-school center.

From a special needs pedagogical perspective, you will support the operations and meet students with significant and varied challenges in their daily lives. The role combines close work in the classroom with creative afternoon activities and external contacts.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Language Promotion: Plan and lead afternoon activities such as a book club and school newspaper to strengthen students' language skills and give them tools to make their voices heard.
  • Pedagogical Collaboration: Collaborate in regular teaching and mentor teachers to create accessible learning environments.
  • Project Management & Documentation: Maintain contact with foundations and other relevant actors. You will analyze student progress via LegiLexi and other assessment materials, and be responsible for annual quality reports and annual accounts.
  • Digital Management: Work in the school's digital systems, including Vklass.

Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you are a confident leader who works based on research and proven experience. You are eager to challenge existing methods with new ideas and perspectives to develop the operations.

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Teacher certification with eligibility in Swedish/Swedish as a Second Language, as well as further education as a special needs teacher.
  • Many years of experience working as a special needs teacher in a multicultural area.
  • Previous experience and good skill in meeting and handling students who present challenges in various ways.
  • Good administrative ability and previous experience in documenting, evaluating, and conducting quality-assured analyses.
  • Good IT skills.

It is meritorious if you:

  • Are multilingual and have deeper experience in second language acquisition.
  • Have experience collaborating with libraries.
  • Are proficient in text and image processing and have experience with the digital systems PMO, Vklass, and Ciceron.
  • Are knowledgeable in or have experience with PAX as a method for creating a good working environment.

Who are you as a person?

We are looking for a secure and stable colleague who maintains a positive attitude even under pressure. You have a flexible approach, great initiative, and a genuinely positive view of students. You collaborate easily and value openness, co-determination, and tolerance. By being attentive and accommodating, you build strong and respectful relationships with colleagues, students, and guardians alike.

We warmly welcome your application!

Other Information

As an employee in our administration, you are offered among other things a wellness allowance, a bike benefit, and employee support.
