We are looking for a highly experienced Construction Manager Telecommunications (Tele) or BPU Tele for a long-term assignment within railway, telecommunications, and ERTMS.
This role is suitable for you if you have extensive experience from major railway projects, are accustomed to working closely on-site within the contracting chain, and can represent the client side in a secure, structured, and professional manner.
The assignment involves the implementation and construction related to ERTMS in the Swedish railway environment. You will work closely with project management, contractors, designers, and other technical disciplines.
Assignment Duration and Scope
Long-term assignment starting no later than October 31, 2026, with the possibility of an earlier start from August 1, 2026. The base assignment runs for approximately 2 years, with the option to extend by 1 + 1 year, meaning the assignment could last until around 2030.
The workload is approximately 60–80 percent during 2026, and thereafter approximately 80–100 percent during 2027 and 2028. In the event of an extension, the workload will be approximately 80–100 percent.
This is therefore a long-term and extensive assignment for you if you can take on a significant role in a larger railway program over several years.
Workplace and Geographic Scope
Possible base locations are Gothenburg, Linköping, Malmö, Solna, or Örebro.
During the first few years, the majority of the work will be located in the Hallsberg and Bjärka-Säby areas. Thereafter, the assignment is expected to gradually move south towards Malmö and the West Coast Line.
The assignment requires high flexibility and regular travel, as a large part of the work takes place on-site at various railway contracts.
A computer and office workspace are provided within the framework of the assignment.
The Role
As Construction Manager Telecommunications, you are responsible for leading, coordinating, and monitoring an assigned area or contract within the Telecommunications technical discipline.
You will, among other things:
- lead and coordinate contracting work within Telecommunications in collaboration with the contractor and project management
- act as the client's representative on the construction site
- ensure that the contract is planned, quality assured, and executed according to the contract, drawings, requirements, and established plans
- monitor time, cost, quality, environment, working environment, and safety
- review and provide feedback on drawings, documentation, and the contractor's planning
- monitor control programs, self-inspections, and execution controls
- handle deviations, changes, additional works, and quantity discrepancies
- participate in construction meetings, economic meetings, technical meetings, and coordination meetings
- keep a diary and create ongoing documentation
- report status, economy, and forecasts
- coordinate with other technical disciplines and adjacent contracts
- participate in joint inspections, surveys, and final documentation
- provide technical advice within Telecommunications
- work according to relevant governing documents, regulations, and standards
The assignment may also include transferring knowledge to employees on the client side regarding the tasks you perform.
Compulsory Requirements
To be considered for the role, you must meet all the requirements listed below.
All requirements must be clearly stated in your CV, including project, role, time period, technical discipline, and description of duties. CVs that do not clearly demonstrate the requirements will not be considered further.
You must have:
- at least 10 years of work experience as a Construction Manager Telecommunications or BPU Tele from railway projects. The experience must have been acquired within the last 15 years
- very good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written
- good knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- valid B driver's license
- knowledge of AB04, AMA, and MER within the Telecommunications technical discipline
- valid qualification as a Safety and Security Planner (SoS-planner), or the possibility to complete such training within 6 months from the start of the assignment
- the ability to work at the level of commitment required for the assignment, including high utilization over several years
- the ability to travel regularly and work closely on-site at railway contracts
Especially Meritorious and Prioritized
The following experiences are particularly meritorious and will be prioritized highly:
- at least 1 year of experience in the construction and building of Opto 2.0 facilities, including Telehouses
- local knowledge in both SO Bjärka-Säby, including the Tjust Line and Stångådals Line, as well as SO Hallsberg
- at least 3 years of experience as a Construction Manager Telecommunications within ERTMS projects
- previous experience from major railway contracts with several parallel technical disciplines
- experience in client representation in complex infrastructure projects
- experience in monitoring contracts regarding economy, time, quality, environment, working environment, and safety
