Are you a proactive Electrical, Instrumentation, or Automation Engineer who wants to help establish a strong local team in Stockholm, while having the backing of a global corporation? Here you have the chance to take significant ownership in a varied project portfolio where your solutions make a real difference for the industry. If you are self-driven, solution-oriented, and want to become part of an expanding and family-oriented corporate culture – apply now!
About the Role
As a Project Engineer specializing in automation, electrical, or instrumentation, you will have a unique opportunity to become a key player in our client's strategic expansion in the Stockholm region. Our client is a global corporation with 16,000 employees worldwide (25 of whom are based in Sweden) and a broad portfolio including Plant Engineering – renovations and new builds of industrial production sites. The company is highly expansive and constantly evolving, with several acquisitions under its belt.
Here you will become part of a large international company where knowledge transfer happens seamlessly internally, while simultaneously belonging to a smaller, very family-oriented local group. The department covers Electrical, Instrumentation, and Automation, and you will be part of a Swedish-Norwegian team led by the department head.
What We Offer
- Impact – A key role where you help build the company's new resource pool and presence in the Stockholm market.
- Varied Projects – The opportunity to work with different business models, international clients, and projects, both digitally and physically on-site.
- Culture – A secure, expanding employer that combines the strength of a large corporation with the flexibility and camaraderie of a smaller local group.
Responsibilities
In the role of Project Engineer, the work is characterized by project activities and can look very different depending on the business model. Your main responsibilities include:
- Working independently on engineering tasks and technical problem-solving within automation, electrical, and instrumentation in projects where project management is often located in another country.
- Independently seeking answers, driving your technical tasks forward, and identifying development opportunities within the operations.
- Providing 100% physical on-site support to clients in the region and becoming an integrated part of their daily operations.
- Actively participating in the department's internal digital meetings, cluster meetings, and cross-border knowledge exchanges.
We Are Looking For
- At least 2 years of practical experience in engineering within automation, electrical, or instrumentation.
- Being relatively self-driven and having the ability to drive your work forward without a rigid, pre-defined structure.
- A relevant educational background (a University College degree with relevant practical experience works perfectly; a university degree is not a requirement).
- Good knowledge of English, as it is the corporation's primary business language.
It is an advantage if you have
- Experience with on-site operations to have a good understanding of what it is actually like on the ground in the industry.
- Basic knowledge or understanding in the adjacent areas of electrical and instrumentation.
- Knowledge of Swedish.
Personal Qualities for Success
In this recruitment process, we place great emphasis on your personality. We believe that you, as a candidate, are a proactive and solution-oriented person who independently seeks answers and does not wait to have everything served on a platter. You are motivated by taking initiative both internally and externally in an environment that is changing. Furthermore, you have a business-like and consultative approach, making it easy for you to collaborate with clients and naturally see opportunities for upselling and expanded collaborations in the field.
Our Recruitment Process
This recruitment process is handled by Academic Work, and our client's request is that all questions regarding the position are sent to Academic Work.
We apply rolling selection and will remove the ad when enough candidates have reached the final stage of the recruitment process. A CV is required when applying. We do not use cover letters as a selection method, so one is not needed. The recruitment process includes two selection tests: a personality test and a cognitive ability test. The tests are a tool to find the candidate with the highest potential for the role and to promote equality, diversity, and a fair recruitment process.
