Job Responsibilities
Do you want to be the secure adult who makes a difference when young people need it most? We are looking for an engaged child pedagogue for our residential care home (HVB).
HVB Väster is a residential care home with three places for girls aged 13–17. We offer 24-hour care with housing and daily nursing. The target group is girls with norm-breaking behavior, NPD diagnoses (Neurodevelopmental Disorders), or behaviors resembling NPD symptoms. Each young person has a contact person who holds structured conversations, but the entire work group shares responsibility for care and daily work.
The responsibilities include, among other things:
- Providing support and guidance in daily routines and ADL (Activities of Daily Living) training.
- Creating structure, security, and predictability, as well as supporting social interaction and activities.
- Working according to agreed methods together with colleagues.
- Collaborating with the young person's network, e.g., family, social services, school, and healthcare.
- Contributing to the young people's change work through a low-arousal and relational approach.
- Contributing to the development of routines and working methods in the operation.
We offer you meaningful work where you contribute daily to the security and development of young people. You will become part of an engaged work group with broad competence and a strong focus on collaboration. Here, you will have the opportunity to develop in your professional role and help build an operation that makes a real difference.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who is secure, stable, and has a genuine commitment to young people. You have the ability to meet young people in difficult situations with warmth, patience, and clarity. You are relationship-building and easily create trust, while also being able to set boundaries in a respectful way. Creating secure relationships with the young people and contributing to a stable environment is a central part of the role. We expect you to have good self-awareness and personal maturity.
In the role, you will handle complex situations, such as aggressive behavior, self-harm, and harmful use and addiction. Therefore, we expect you to be low-arousal in your treatment and able to handle this in a solution-focused and independent manner. You see development work as an opportunity and enjoy working together with others to create structure and quality in the operation. Great importance is placed on personal suitability.
Requirements:
- Post-secondary education in pedagogy, social work, or another behavioral science orientation.
- Experience working with children and young people in residential care (HVB) or similar operations.
