Our Operations

Hemmestas School is a pre-school to year 9 (F–9) school divided into two units: one for pre-school to year 5, and one for years 6–9, with one principal and two deputy principals. The school has 620 students and is developing a clear F–9 perspective.

We actively work with inclusive solutions that permeate the entire school day. We are organized into two Student Health Team (EHT) teams, one for each school unit, while simultaneously developing the EHT from an F–9 perspective. Trust, communication, and the courage to think outside the box are key success factors.

Your Role

As a school counselor, you are responsible for the psychosocial interventions of the student health service and contribute a social and psychosocial perspective. Your duties consist largely of conversations, such as support, motivational, crisis, and conflict counseling, as well as investigative, advisory, and processing conversations with individual students and their guardians. You investigate and assess the social and psychosocial situation of students or groups as needed, and collaborate with various actors outside the school. You participate in the Student Health Team (EHT) and actively work with preventive and health-promoting activities. Your role includes being active in absence investigations.

Your Experience

You are educated as a social worker. Experience working in primary schools as a school counselor is advantageous.

Your Personal Qualities

As a person, you are structured and have a good ability to develop good structure and clarity in the counselor role. You are skilled at meeting both students and guardians and building good relationships. You enjoy collaborating with others, both colleagues at the school and various external actors. You are someone who sees opportunities instead of problems.
