We are looking for an engaged social worker (social secretary) to join the Social Assistance Department at Hisingen Social Administration!

The Social Assistance Department handles administrative authority tasks and consists of a reception unit and four equal units dealing with ongoing assistance cases. The units are located at two local offices: Höstvädersgatan 1 and Dunfins gata 20-22. Economic Assistance Unit 1 operates out of the office on Höstvädersgatan. The unit currently consists of 15 social workers, two administrators, two senior social workers, and a unit manager. Our skilled colleague is leaving for a new assignment, and we are now looking for her successor.

Job Responsibilities

As a social worker, you will have two main tasks. One involves motivating and offering interventions that contribute to individuals becoming self-sufficient. The other task involves investigating and assessing the right to economic assistance. In your work, you will collaborate with other actors such as the Swedish Social Insurance Agency, healthcare providers, the Swedish Public Employment Service, and internal actors within social services.

Qualifications

A degree in Social Work (socionom) is a requirement for this position. We would appreciate if you have previous experience working with social assistance, but most importantly, we want you to contribute to our good cooperation. To handle the tasks, it is important that you can work with administrative authority while simultaneously supporting and motivating individuals.

As a person, you are communicative and have good verbal and written expression skills. Furthermore, you are structured and able to follow routines and guidelines. Since you will meet people in vulnerable situations, you must be professional in your role and have a good approach to customer service. As you will collaborate with many different actors, the job requires good teamwork skills and that you are receptive.

Hisingen Social Administration is part of the social services in the City of Gothenburg. We are one of four social administrations. We work purposefully to create a better everyday life for the residents of Hisingen.

We offer support within individual and family care, social emergency services, assistance with addiction issues, and integration matters. We also work with leisure activities and preventive work regarding public health, urban planning, local safety initiatives, and integration issues.
