Job Description
We are now looking for a substitute preschool teacher for our preschool in Stenkullen, Åkerslätt. The preschool started its operations on May 2, 2017, and is inspired by the Reggio Emilia philosophy. The preschool has modern facilities adapted to our pedagogical approach, with five age-segregated sections distributed over two floors. In Åkerslätt, we also have a section that is open around the clock. Adjacent to the preschool, we have beautiful natural areas and the Stenkullen leisure facilities. The indoor and outdoor environments inspire play, movement, and health. The outdoor environment is further enhanced by our outdoor pedagog. The youngest children have their own outdoor yard and learning environment. At our preschool, children develop in the basics of natural sciences and are given the opportunity to use up to a hundred different forms of expression.
At the Stenkullen preschools, we work from a common approach based on our defined view of the child:
"We start from the premise that children are competent carriers and creators of knowledge. Children and educators learn with and from each other, side by side. Everyone has the right to feel successful based on their abilities. Differences enrich. One is not, but one becomes, based on the context one is in."
To our unit, we are now seeking a preschool teacher who, together with the work team and other educators, will be responsible for the preschool's mission, which involves both learning, development, and care.
We are looking for someone who is attracted to new ways of working and challenges and has a burning interest in working in a Reggio Emilia inspired manner. Then you might be the preschool teacher for us.
We would like you to:
- be interested in pedagogical development
- be able to contribute your experiences from previous work with children
- have a processed view of your role as an educator and your view of the child and their learning
- be able to show both warmth and set boundaries
- have good insight into the preschool curriculum
- be flexible and have strong social competence
- be proactive and love challenges
We offer you:
- A dynamic operation where imagination and creativity are given plenty of room.
- A workplace where children and educators feel the joy of learning, are involved, and have their skills put into context.
- Good development opportunities in the work.
- Support from special educators and pedagogists
- Free pedagogical meals
- Work clothes
- Wellness allowance
Qualifications
We are looking for you who are a licensed preschool teacher and have good cooperation skills, are open, flexible, positive, and full of ideas. It is meritorious if you have experience working in a Reggio Emilia inspired preschool environment. Great importance will be attached to personal suitability.
It is also meritorious if you have experience working with alternative communication such as PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System).
