JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Do you want to work with qualified investigations that make a difference for children and students? We are now looking for an investigator with a special focus on individual cases for the Child and Education Administration.

As an investigator, you will become an important part of the work to ensure legal certainty, quality, and equity for every individual.

About the role

As an investigator with us, you primarily work with individual cases related to preschool, after-school centers (fritidshem), comprehensive school, upper secondary school, and adult education. You are responsible for investigating and processing cases involving complaints, bullying/harassment, and cases submitted to external supervisory authorities.

Your main responsibilities:

  • Investigate and process complaint cases
  • Handle cases for the Swedish Schools Inspectorate, the Child and Youth Ombudsman (BEO), and the Discrimination Ombudsman (DO)
  • Prepare individual cases and develop decision materials
  • Coordinate responses to authorities and handle appeals
  • Provide support to operations regarding legal questions related to individual cases
  • Represent the principal regarding bullying/harassment
  • Conduct interviews and visits to operations as necessary

The work involves both independent investigations and close collaboration with principals and other functions within the administration.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who have:

  • A university/college degree in law or other education that the employer deems relevant
  • Good ability to interpret and apply legislation, especially within school legislation and administrative law
  • Knowledge of public administration, public access to information, secrecy, and GDPR

It is meritorious if you have:

  • Experience working with individual cases within the education sector
  • Experience with cases related to the Swedish Schools Inspectorate, BEO, or DO

To succeed in the role, you need to be:

  • Structured and analytical with a good ability to see the big picture
  • Confident in your professional role and have the courage to stand by your assessments
  • Communicative with very good ability to express yourself in speech and writing
  • Receptive and team-oriented, with the ability to treat people professionally
  • Independent and responsible

You also have the ability to distinguish between facts and personal matters and can handle complex and sometimes sensitive cases in a legally secure manner.

OTHER

  • A B-class driver's license is required as travel for work occurs
  • The position is located at the central office of the Child and Education Administration in Kinna.
  • Interviews are planned for June 10th.
