Job Responsibilities

As an Operating Department Assistant with us, you become an important part of the team together with the anesthesiologist and operating department nurse. Together, you follow the patient through the entire operation process from preparation to aftercare. The role requires both security and good physical ability as lifting and patient transfers are a natural part of the work.

You are gradually introduced to both planned and emergency operations, which means varying workdays where you can switch between different types of operations and patient flows. The role is broad and developmental with a strong focus on teamwork, technology, and learning.

With us, you receive training in medical technical equipment and the opportunity to participate in internal exercises and competence-developing initiatives as the operation develops. We offer a structured introduction of 6–12 months with regular check-ins together with the manager and supervisor so that you feel secure and independent in your role.

Parallel to the operation-related introduction, you will also take part in our internal training.

The work at the Operations Unit is mainly scheduled during daytime, but working hours vary and also include evenings, nights, and weekends. Since the operation is conducted around the clock, every day of the year, you need to thrive in a flexible work environment where the pace and tasks can change throughout the day.

During certain parts of the day, you work according to a duty schedule as part of our emergency operations. Together, we ensure safe and secure care for our patients regardless of the time of day.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are educated as an Operating Department Assistant. Previous experience in emergency or intensive care is meritorious, but not a requirement. If you also have a Higher Vocational Education (YH) within operating care, we see it as particularly valuable.

Since the work takes place close to both colleagues and other professions, good cooperation skills and flexibility are important. We value you who are curious, want to develop in your professional role, and have a solution-oriented approach. Great importance is placed on personal suitability.
