IPSU – Individual Pedagogical Support in Education – is a valuable and high-quality service procured by the Swedish Public Employment Service (Arbetsförmedlingen). The goal is to fulfill their strategic responsibility within labor market policy by giving more people the chance to complete education in various fields with labor shortages.

As an IPSU educator, you are the one who works closest to our participant under the guidance of our special education teacher. The assignments vary greatly; it may involve a pedagogical setup where you meet the participant for several hours each day or just a few hours per week.

The pedagogical support for each participant takes place at various educational providers, implying a varied and developing workday. It is therefore important that you enjoy a changing work situation. On some courses, part of the lessons take place outdoors.

Your task is to contribute to the participant gaining the prerequisites to complete their studies through special pedagogical methods and the use of technical aids, apps, etc. You are a complement to regular teachers and are not expected to teach or master the subjects in the current curriculum. The role entails broadly:

• Pedagogical work supporting participants in an educational setting.
• Collaboration and dialogue with staff at the various actors conducting the educational initiatives relevant to our participants, e.g., teachers at labor market training providers.
• Participation in collegial forums, follow-ups, and quality work.

• Collaboration with responsible specialists such as audiologists, special education teachers, vision therapists, sign language interpreters, or licensed occupational therapists.
• Reporting and documentation regarding implemented interventions in various systems.

Formal requirements and desired experience

• Documented experience working with people with disabilities in an educational setting for at least one year.
• Documented experience working with cognitive aids in an educational setting for at least one year.
• Driver's license with own car.
