Kemikum, with over 200 employees, is one of the largest institutions at Stockholm University. Research at Kemikum covers all areas of chemistry, including analytical chemistry, physical chemistry, materials chemistry, inorganic and structural chemistry, as well as organic chemistry. Research projects range from theory to experiment, from pure basic research to more applied projects, often focusing on sustainable chemistry as well as advanced analytical methods for chemicals and materials. Kemikum has a very well-developed research infrastructure with a wide range of equipment and qualified support from staff researchers.
Kemikum is also home to undergraduate education in chemistry and three master's programs: Analytical Chemistry, Sustainable Chemistry, and Organic Chemistry. Doctoral education is conducted within five areas: analytical chemistry, physical chemistry, materials chemistry, inorganic chemistry, and organic chemistry. Job Description
A position as a Research Assistant is advertised within the group led by Assistant Professor Matteo Costantini at Stockholm University.
The project focuses on the development of photoactivated therapeutic agents that contain new functional motifs at their core. The main tasks include: 1) Development of synthetic strategies to achieve the desired functions, and 2) Characterization of the photochemical properties of the resulting compounds of interest.
Qualifications
The applicant must have completed studies equivalent to 180 higher education credits and hold a bachelor's degree in chemistry.
The selection among eligible applicants will be based on their ability to benefit from the education. The following criteria will be used to assess this ability:
- Documented knowledge in organic synthesis.
- Practical laboratory skills.
- Ability for analytical and creative thinking.
- Initiative.
- Independence.
- Collaborative skills.
- Good written and oral proficiency in both Swedish and English.
About the Position
The position is full-time and fixed-term for a maximum of 12 months. Stockholm University applies individual salary setting. Start date according to agreement.
