GÖTEBORGS KOMMUNVästra Götalands län, Göteborg
Previous experience is desired
Description
Welcome to School Area 7 in the City Centre, which includes Landalaskolan (Adapted Primary School Grades 1-6), Mossebergsskolan (Preschool-Grade 2), and Guldhedsskolan (Preschool-Grade 9).
In our school area, approximately 850 students attend and around 125 staff members work. We have a good collaboration across the schools, leveraging each other's strengths and competencies. We support and help each other with both strategic and operational work in our operations. We have a joint student health team in the school area, consisting of the principal, deputy principals, counselors, school psychologists, school nurses, and special education teachers.
Landalaskolan is centrally located on a hill above Kapellplatsen and Landalatorg. The surroundings are quiet, and green areas are within short walking distance of the school. At Landalaskolan, we believe that children do right if they can and learn from success; we see the relational perspective as a natural approach in all meetings with our students.
We are expanding with more students and are now looking for six student assistants!
Responsibilities
As a student assistant in adapted primary school, you work to support students throughout the school day. You work in a team together with teachers and other colleagues to design and adapt teaching to meet the students' specific needs based on the teacher's planning. Your task is to flexibly, together with the team, find ways for students to reach their full potential, knowledge development, and independence. Since the school is newly established, we want you to be an active part in the development of the operations through your competence. Working hours vary between 06:00 and 18:00.
Qualifications
We are looking for you who have completed a student assistant education or another upper secondary education that the employer deems equivalent. You must have at least 2 years of experience in adapted primary school and experience/knowledge in working with AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication). Very good knowledge of the Swedish language in speech and writing. Knowledge and ability to use sign language is meritorious.
You take responsibility for your tasks and the group's tasks. You think about those we are here for and their best interests. You do your best to complete all tasks correctly and follow up on the results. You are pleasant and helpful to other people even in stressful situations. You show respect for everyone you meet at work. You are inviting and positive. You work to ensure the student gets what they need.
You take initiative, start students' learning activities, and achieve results whether you work alone or together with others. You have a strong commitment and enthusiasm for your work.
You work well with others by listening, showing interest, and respect. You understand the common mission and feel secure in the value base that all children do right if they can, and our task is to develop their abilities and skills to make it as good as possible.
