The Swedish Agency for Youth and Civil Society (MUCF) is a government agency that produces knowledge about young people's living conditions and the prerequisites for civil society. MUCF has been tasked by the government to work towards achieving the goals within youth policy and civil society policy. We do this by producing, collecting, and disseminating knowledge, as well as contributing to the coordination of state efforts. We collaborate with agencies, municipalities, regions, and civil society organizations, and distribute state grants.

The Youth Affairs Division has as its main tasks to collect, develop, and disseminate knowledge about measures and methods that can improve young people's living conditions. The division shall also monitor and analyze young people's living conditions, attitudes, and values at both local and national levels.

Description

We are looking for a Development Manager for the Youth Affairs Division with a focus on LUPP (Local Monitoring of Youth Policy). LUPP is an established tool that supports municipalities and regions in monitoring young people's living conditions and strengthening the knowledge base for local and regional youth policy.

In this role, you are responsible for coordinating and developing the work with LUPP, as well as the agency's support to municipalities and regions. You work with the planning, implementation, and follow-up of surveys and analysis, and contribute to the development of working methods and methodological support.

The work also involves planning and conducting training, seminars, and networking meetings, as well as collaborating with municipalities, regions, civil society organizations, and other agencies. You produce reports, guidelines, and other knowledge materials, and contribute to government assignments and development initiatives in the area.

The role involves both independent work and close collaboration with colleagues and external actors. You represent the agency in national contexts and contribute to the division's other work based on the needs of the operations.

The position involves travel within Sweden.

Location: Växjö.

Responsibilities

In the role of Development Manager, you work with coordinating and developing the agency's work with LUPP (Local Monitoring of Youth Policy) and the agency's support to municipalities and regions regarding young people's participation and influence. The work includes planning, implementation, and follow-up of surveys and analysis, as well as the development of methodological support and working methods.

You are also responsible for planning and conducting training, seminars, conferences, and other knowledge-raising initiatives. The role includes producing reports, guidelines, and other knowledge materials, as well as monitoring and analyzing results and measures within the operational area.

The work involves close collaboration with municipalities, regions, civil society organizations, and other agencies. You also contribute to government assignments and other development initiatives, and represent the agency in external and national contexts. The role involves both independent work and close collaboration with colleagues within the division.

Qualifications

Requirements

  • An academic degree in social sciences, pedagogy, law, or other education deemed equivalent by the employer.
  • Experience working with issues concerning young people's participation and influence.
  • Experience in planning, implementing, and following up on projects, development work, or assignments.
  • Experience collaborating with public actors, such as municipalities, regions, or agencies.
  • Experience producing written materials, reports, or methodological support.
  • Experience working with surveys or other quantitative methods.
  • Knowledge of gender equality, LGBTQ+ issues, and disability perspectives.
  • Very good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish, as well as good proficiency in English.

Merits

It is meritorious if you have:

  • Experience working in a government agency or another politically governed organization.
  • Experience in process facilitation or project management in collaborative environments.
  • Experience in system administration or development of digital working methods.
  • Experience conducting knowledge dissemination initiatives, such as training or webinars.
  • Experience in cross-sectoral collaboration between the public sector and civil society.
  • Experience in international or EU-related work.

Conditions

Permanent employment, which normally begins with a 6-month probationary period.
