Project Manager – Public Transport Properties

The Regional Area Västfastigheter Construction and Management has customer responsibility, acts as the representative for the property owner in matters concerning the region's property portfolio, and provides premises for the region's operations. Public Transport Properties, which is part of Västfastigheter Construction and Management, is responsible for Västtrafik's total property needs, both owned and rented, as well as stop equipment. The property portfolio mainly consists of vehicle depots for trains, trams, buses, and boats, as well as travel centers throughout the region.

The unit employs property managers, project managers, project coordinators, property developers, technical coordinators, and technical managers. The unit is led by a Property Director and consists of 24 employees.

About the role

As a Project Manager at Public Transport Properties, you will act as the client's representative and drive small and medium-sized projects. These may include investment projects, maintenance projects, reinvestment projects, or tenant adaptations at various stages.

You have overall responsibility for the implementation of projects, including quality, time, and economy. You lead procurement processes, ensure compliance with laws and regulations, and prepare decision-making materials. The role also involves contributing to development work within the unit and supporting and onboarding colleagues when needed.

Within the unit, you work closely with property managers, technical managers, and tenants through the various stages of projects. You are responsible for a portfolio of properties and are accustomed to driving multiple projects in parallel.

You are based at Regionens Hus in Gothenburg. As we operate throughout the region, travel is part of the job. We encourage the use of public transport for business travel where possible.

What qualifications do you need?

We are looking for you who are educated as a university or civil engineer in civil engineering, or alternatively have other education combined with experience that we assess as equivalent.

You have experience in independently leading and executing construction projects at all stages, with a focus on maintenance projects and tenant adaptations.

Furthermore, you have good experience with budget responsibility, economic follow-up, and project control.

It is an advantage if you have experience of LOU (The Swedish Public Procurement Act) and work within public operations.

You are engaged, communicative, and have good collaboration skills. To succeed in the role, you must have good strategic and analytical abilities, as well as the ability to prioritize well and focus on the right things. It is important that you can express yourself well both verbally and in writing and are comfortable with oral presentations. You are proactive and have a systematic working approach. A valid driver's license (Category B) is a requirement for the position.
