ABOUT THE POSITION
Bättre Assistans is currently seeking a casual assistant for a young man in Boden! The working hours are scheduled as follows:
Weekdays: 16:00-21:00
Weekends: 10:00-17:30.
In this role, you will act as a personal assistant for a young person with a disability who requires extensive and structured support in daily life. For the client to feel secure, it is of utmost importance to provide clear structure, predictability, and a calm environment. Communication takes place using augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) methods, which includes the use of sounds, body language, signs, and visual aids. A central aspect of the assistance is the high need for active supervision and presence during all waking hours. In your work, you will become a crucial part of the client's daily life, directly contributing to both security and quality of life.

CLIENT'S INTERESTS
In his spare time, the client enjoys activities such as listening to music or YouTube clips, being physically active by running and jumping, and playing with water.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
Your main tasks include providing extensive support with activities of daily living (ADL), which involves help with personal hygiene (such as toilet visits, bathing/showering, brushing teeth), dressing and undressing, as well as handling meals and eating. Furthermore, the role includes active safety responsibility and supervision, where continuous presence and proactive work are used to manage and prevent challenging situations to maintain a safe environment. You also provide support in communication and social interaction by actively using communication aids and interpreting the client's signals. Finally, you are responsible for accompanying the client to community activities, outdoor stays, and transport.
ARE YOU THE ONE WE ARE LOOKING FOR?
We are looking for someone who is clear, responsive, and has a low-affective approach. It is crucial that you have the ability to build a long-term relationship and create familiarity, as the client can become stressed by new contacts and other people. You must be able to provide the stability and structure the client needs. Furthermore, you must have a high awareness of risks and be able to maintain constant, active supervision. We need someone who is calm and secure in their role, even when situations become challenging.
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience working as a personal assistant
Knowledge and experience working with autism
Training in low-affective handling (LAB)

Salary: We apply individual salary setting. Other benefits in accordance with collective agreements.

If you are to work with children and young people under 18, you are required to present a certificate of good conduct (extract from the criminal record). From March 1, 2026, new regulations will apply meaning that the register check will include both extracts from the criminal record and extracts from the suspicion register. The extract is ordered via the Swedish Police Authority's e-service. Note that processing times may vary, so it is advisable to order well in advance.
