We at Karlsborg Municipality are looking for an engaged and driven public health strategist who wants to help create a safe and healthy future for our residents. As a public health strategist, you will play a key role in the municipality's work promoting health and well-being for all ages, from the youngest to the oldest.

The Workplace

The Department of Culture and Leisure has a broad mandate focusing on people's leisure time and targets all residents of the municipality. The department encompasses activities such as libraries, cultural schools, culture, youth and senior activities, sports, and outdoor recreation. Public health issues are also a central part of our work. The public health strategist works across departments but is located within the Department of Culture and Leisure.

You will be based at Karlsborg Municipality House, and the Head of Culture and Leisure will be your direct supervisor. Responsibilities

As a public health strategist, you are responsible for identifying and analyzing public health needs, as well as proposing and implementing measures based on evidence and proven experience. You will work operationally with projects and initiatives aimed at promoting physical activity, healthy eating habits, mental health, and social security.

The work is carried out in close collaboration with other municipal departments, Närhälsan (primary healthcare), non-profit organizations, and other relevant actors to create a broad and sustainable public health effort. You are expected to produce and present reports, strategic documents, and informational material that engages and inspires various target groups.

The position is a temporary vacancy, meaning the work is largely planned and prepared for the year, but planning is ongoing for the coming year. You will operate within a set budget and take over existing collaborations. Your role will be to hold together the public health work in the municipality and act as a coordinating force – the one who keeps the threads together in the joint work for better public health.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have a relevant university degree in public health science or another related area that the employer considers equivalent. You preferably have previous experience working with public health issues and project management, and have a good ability to collaborate with different actors and create engagement around health-promoting measures.

You express yourself well both orally and in writing, and have an easy time presenting information in a clear, structured, and convincing manner. The role also requires good operational ability – you are accustomed to driving projects forward, taking personal responsibility, and delivering results.

We are looking for a self-starting and initiative-rich person who thrives in a dynamic daily life, is used to handling several parallel tasks, and has the ability to create structure in daily work independently.

Salary range: 35,000 - 38,000 SEK

The position is a parental leave substitute initially for 4 months, with a possible extension depending on when the regular employee plans to return to work.
