Based on granted government grants, the Centre Against Violence is now seeking an employee for a fixed-term position from August 2026 to December 2027. The position is full-time (100%).
About Us
The Centre Against Violence is a county-wide competence centre against violence in close relationships. We offer support to adults exposed to violence, children who have experienced violence, and treatment for perpetrators of violence. The operation is a collaboration between the county's eight municipalities, but organizationally, the Centre Against Violence belongs to Östersund Municipality, Social and Labour Market Administration.
The Centre Against Violence offers interventions via service and/or assistance. Most interventions are provided individually, but the operation also includes group activities. The Centre has a mandate to support professionals, offer training, and coordinate the municipalities' work against violence in close relationships.
Eight employees with different specializations, a operations manager, and a unit manager (25%) work at the Centre Against Violence. The work is carried out based on set goals and involves both support and change work. A key starting point is that those exposed to violence are protected from further violence. The work is conducted based on the helper-seeker's needs, with a salutogenic perspective on the individual's future.
In addition to stimulating work with varied tasks, carried out together with pleasant and competent colleagues, you as an employee at the Centre Against Violence are offered:
- External supervision
- Internal supervision
- Basic introduction to the work
- Continuous further education
- Proximity to operations managers who work close to the operations
- Annual working hours
Job Responsibilities
Your primary responsibilities are to provide individual counseling support to citizens aged 15 and above who are exposed to violence in close relationships. The method "Conversations about Freedom" forms the basis for the conversations. Group activities, conducted together with a colleague, may also be part of the role. At the Centre, everyone helps each other with responsibility for our reception phone, which is open between 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM every weekday.
The position involves cooperation and collaboration with municipalities as well as externally with other authorities and organizations. It also includes providing information about the operation to partners, as well as training and consulting other professionals within the municipalities.
Working hours are primarily during the day, although some evening duties may occur, but not on a regular basis. The work may involve travel within the county as the operation is county-wide.
Qualifications
We are looking for you who have a degree in social work or another behavioral science university education that the employer deems suitable. It is meritorious if you have a few years of experience in supportive conversations and/or change work, and preferably knowledge and competence in violence in close relationships. It is also meritorious if you have Trappan training and/or experience with group activities.
You have the ability to work independently and have good collaboration skills. You enjoy supporting citizens with both practical matters and change work through conversation. Being flexible, solution-focused, and comfortable speaking in front of a group of people are important qualities for the position.
You are responsible and have reached a personal maturity that makes you confident in yourself. Personal suitability is highly valued. A driver's license is a requirement.
The Recruitment Process
Received applications are reviewed continuously, and in parallel, a selection will be made, and these candidates will be invited to a physical interview. After the interviews, another selection is made, and references are checked thereafter.
For positions where the work involves direct and regular contact with children and young people, as well as for operations within LSS (Act concerning Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments), care and nursing, health and medical care, psychiatric care, and addiction care, a valid extract from the police criminal record must be presented or submitted prior to employment. Please note that it may take time to obtain the extract, so order it in good time so as not to delay the recruitment process.
How the Recruitment Works
We want you to attach a CV and a cover letter to your application. Grades/certificates do not need to be sent with the application. We ask you to complete these if an interview becomes relevant.
