The Urban Environment Administration has overall responsibility for the city's public spaces and collective accessibility. We work to create accessible, attractive, and vibrant urban environments and natural areas. The administration owns and manages the tram network in Gothenburg.
The Urban Environment Administration is part of the urban development administrations in the City of Gothenburg. Together, we work to create conditions for functioning infrastructure, quality housing and premises, an inviting public environment, and to ensure the city becomes sustainable from all perspectives.
Job Responsibilities
Do you want to work with the city's public spaces and contribute to creating an attractive, accessible, and accessible city? We are now looking for a case handler for the allocation of public space to the Urban Environment Administration.
In your role as a case handler, you are responsible for the tasks of the Urban Environment Committee regarding the allocation of public space, and you must provide the opinions referred to in Chapter 3, Section 2 of the Public Order Act (1993:1617). Your duties include responding to and processing applications referred from the Police Authority. You will, among other things, check and follow up on the use of space in relation to current permits. You will have extensive contact with those we serve, such as businesses, citizens, other administrations, and partners. In this role, you will also work strategically to develop operations and the city from a multi-year perspective.
The responsibilities of the unit include processing cases regarding the allocation of public land. Processing involves coordination and investigation both internally within the city and externally. As a land allocator, your role includes conducting site visits, performing investigations, and preparing decision materials. You respond to comments and correspondence from the public, other administrations, and companies. The assignment includes ensuring accessibility, accessibility, and traffic safety in the urban environment. Furthermore, you will also have contact with other administrations and external actors in Gothenburg.
Qualifications
To apply for the position, you need education in social or urban planning, or other education and experience that the employer considers equivalent. A B-class driver's license is required, and experience with the Public Order Act, work in a politically governed organization, or public authority operations is meritorious.
As a person, you need to have a good ability to work together with others. You have good communication skills, where you can adapt communication to the recipient, target group, and situation. You take initiative and responsibility for the work moving forward, whether you work alone or with others. You are meticulous, comfortable in social interactions, and have an easy time adapting to different contexts.
