The Intensive and Perioperative Care (IPV) area uses the Competence Staff Model (KTM) for specialist nurses. KTM is a structured competence development program that creates administration-wide structures for professional development and continuous learning within Skåne University Hospital. The purpose is to increase the conditions for good and safe care and contribute to making Skåne University Hospital an attractive workplace. This initiative is part of the work with the Magnet Model, which aims to lead to improvements in care and working environment.

IPV is responsible for anesthesia and surgical care at Skåne University Hospital (Sus) in Malmö. IPV includes Surgery (OK), Gynecological Surgery (OKK), Orthopedic Surgery (OO), Reconstructive Surgery (ORK), as well as anesthesia services for hand surgical procedures.

OK is an exciting surgical department undergoing constant development. We provide anesthesia and surgical services for elective lower gastrointestinal surgery, endovascular/vascular surgery, urology, transplant surgery, acute surgery, as well as anesthesia for radiological examinations. The unit is responsible for emergency alarms within the hospital and staffing for transports between hospitals. In February 2026, we moved into completely new premises at NSM, New Malmö Hospital.

The nurses on the ward have quota agreements that provide reduced working hours, and we schedule shifts using Time Care/Multi Access.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse with permission to work in Swedish healthcare and have further education in surgical nursing. Knowledge of Swedish corresponding to at least level C1 according to the Council of Europe scale is a requirement. We are also looking for a licensed nurse with permission to work in Swedish healthcare who will complete their specialist nurse degree in surgical nursing in June 2026.
