Are you an experienced communicator looking to work on issues related to corporate competitiveness and regional development? Then a position as a Communications Specialist at Tillväxtverket (The Swedish Agency for Economic and Regional Growth) is for you. We are expanding our communications team.
At Tillväxtverket, we work for competitive companies and sustainable development throughout Sweden. We offer knowledge, networks, and investment opportunities. This provides direct benefits to businesses, as well as the conditions for companies, municipalities, and regions to meet future challenges. Tillväxtverket is a national agency with a regional presence in nine locations.
In the role of Communications Specialist, you can expect interesting and varied work in close collaboration with knowledgeable colleagues. You will provide qualified support in communication matters to employees and managers within other parts of the agency, acting as an advisor and partner.
You will work both strategically and operationally with prioritized and ongoing communication tasks from a holistic perspective on the agency's combined mandate and communications. The work involves everything from target group analyses, communication planning, and coordination to operational implementation and follow-up of communication initiatives. You will work on several assignments, often government mandates, in parallel. Sometimes you will lead a communication initiative, and sometimes you will be part of a working group.
Operational work includes formulating messages, producing content (text, film, simple design), publishing, and distributing content on the web or other channels, both independently and in collaboration with others. You will actively participate in our editorial news work for both external and internal target groups. The assignment also includes project managing external productions, for example via communication agencies.
You will become part of Tillväxtverket's communications unit, which is responsible for strategic guidelines regarding external and internal communication. We drive, develop, and coordinate the agency's communication work. Your colleagues have other specialized competencies and areas of responsibility. Together, we work as a team. Everyone in the unit contributes to the development of common working methods and processes so that Tillväxtverket becomes a successful communicative organization.
You will have your own responsibilities but will also need to adapt to the agency's and assignments' most prioritized tasks, which may change over time. Therefore, it is good if you are accustomed to improvising within given frameworks.
Your place of work is: Stockholm
We are looking for someone who has experience in both external and internal communication and enjoys coaching employees and managers in their assignments, as well as:
- A minimum of three years of university or college studies in Communication Science or other education/experience that Tillväxtverket assesses as equivalent.
- A minimum of five years of experience in qualified strategic and operational communication work at a government agency, including planning, coordination, target group adaptation, message formulation, text production, environmental scanning, and follow-up of major communication initiatives.
- Very good skills in formulating yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office and Sitevision or other web publishing tools.
The following are meritorious:
- Experience working with external suppliers of strategic and operational communication services.
- Experience in reprioritizing work based on needs arising from current events, i.e., the ability to balance long-term planned communication with need-driven quick interventions.
- Knowledge in the analysis and follow-up of web statistics, as well as in accessibility and GDPR issues.
As a person, we are looking for someone who is strategic and has a broad perspective on issues. You are calm and stable, good at collaborating with others, and building good relationships, both within and outside your own unit. You understand that you sometimes need to prioritize in your work and that success is born from collaboration where everyone takes responsibility for their part.
You have the ability to take initiative and drive processes forward in a listening manner. You have good prioritization skills, a holistic view, are solution-oriented, meticulous, and unpretentious. To succeed in this role, you need to be secure in your position, comfortable advocating for your views, and able to bring the communicative perspective to the contexts in which you operate.
We will place great emphasis on personal qualities.
We expect you to adhere to our employee and manager policy (https://tillvaxtverket.se/tillvaxtverket/omtillvaxtverket/jobbahososs/fordelarmedattjobbahososs/medarbetarochchefspolicy.600.html), which expresses the expectations we have for all employees.
We assume that you share our value base, the Swedish public sector value base (https://www.statskontoret.se/fokusomraden/god-forvaltningskultur-och-antikorruption/den-statliga-vardegrunden/). This unites all state employees, regardless of activity and profession. The value base aims to create an administration that is efficient, legally secure, and free from corruption and abuse of power.
