Job Responsibilities

As a personal assistant, you support the individual in their home, guided by the user's needs and wishes. The tasks include practical chores, personal care, medical interventions, leisure activities, and social contacts. You are to be the support the user needs to participate in as many activities as possible and to help ensure the user has a good quality of life.

Qualifications

We prefer that you have completed education from the nursing program, the child and youth program, or a one-year personal assistant training. Applicants with other education or experience that the employer deems equivalent may also be considered. You must have good knowledge of Swedish, both written and spoken. The work should be characterized by a pedagogical approach to support the user in retaining their skills as much as possible. It is important that you feel confident in your professional role and can act professionally. We also value that you are social, receptive, and proactive in activities with the user. We place great emphasis on your personal qualities.

The role of personal assistant requires good physical fitness in terms of strength, stamina, and mobility. Since the job requires documentation, good computer skills are desirable. We prefer that you have a B-class driver's license and access to a car.

More about the position

1 permanent position with an employment rate of 94.30%. Working hours are scheduled during days, evenings, and weekends. Start date: ASAP.

Full-time employment may be offered. You would primarily work on this case but may need to work hours on other cases/operations where there is a need. This assumes that you can travel by your own car to the temporary workplace. Travel compensation is provided according to the agreement for business travel.

The Case

We are looking for a personal assistant for a happy, sprightly, and active young man. He needs support and guidance in daily life with most chores. He is graduating from high school this spring and will thereafter attend his day activity center. He enjoys outings and loves swimming.

As an assistant, you should be calm and confident, consistent and clear in your professional role, able to take initiative and make decisions, and easy to collaborate with, as there is double staffing during parts of the day. Experience with low-affective handling is a merit.
