About the Job

The main responsibility is practical and theoretical teaching, including examination, in the subject of reproduction within the Veterinary Programme. Teaching and examination of students in other courses may also be included. The teaching is conducted in Swedish and includes lectures, seminars, demonstrations, and practical exercises, as well as supervision of degree projects within the animal species specified by the subject. In addition to teaching, course coordination, administrative work, and research may be included in the position.

Since we strive for teachers in clinical subjects to have current experience of practical animal healthcare, a certain part of clinical work at the University Animal Hospital or the subject clinics may be included. The employment also includes the opportunity to conduct research in the field of reproduction in collaboration with the department's ongoing scientific activities.

Your Background

Qualifications:

• Hold a Swedish veterinary license.
• Hold a Category B driver's license.
• Be able to express yourself well both orally and in writing in Swedish and English.

Assessment Criteria:

• Motivation and interest in the subject and for your own clinical competence development within the subject.
• Collaborative skills and the ability to work both independently and in groups.
• Administrative skills.
• Experience of teaching, preferably at the university level.
• Experience of clinical veterinary work within the subject.

The position is offered to the person who, after a qualitative overall assessment, is judged to have the best prerequisites for carrying out the duties. Great importance will be attached to personal qualities.

About Us

The Department of Clinical Sciences is responsible for undergraduate education, research, and doctoral education within the scientific fields of veterinary medicine, animal care, and animal science. The department's activities mainly concern our common Swedish domesticated animal species (livestock) with a focus on anesthesiology, imaging diagnostics, animal care, epidemiology, laboratory animal medicine, surgery, clinical chemistry, medicine, and livestock reproduction.

Subject Description:

Livestock reproduction covers the sub-disciplines of obstetrics, gynecology, andrology, reproductive biotechnology, endocrinology, and toxicology. It concerns the animal species cattle, sheep, goats, pigs, horses, and companion animals at both individual, herd, and population levels.
