Welcome to us

As a case handler, you will be based at the Environmental Administration's bright offices on Kungsholmen, just a few minutes' walk from the Central Station. You belong to the Planning and Traffic unit within the Urban Environment department. You will be part of a working group of six people within the supervision area, while also collaborating closely with many expert colleagues at the Environmental Administration. In the group, we work closely together and have a pleasant atmosphere where we support each other regarding both substantive issues and workload. The group conducts supervision on road and rail traffic, development projects, and aviation, and belongs to a unit that also works with environmental issues in urban planning. We are part of a department where everyone works with environmental issues related to urban development in some form. It is an inspiring environment with many knowledgeable and friendly colleagues. Here, you will have a varied and socially important job in a knowledge-intensive and inspiring environment.

The position is a parental leave substitute for one year, starting in September 2026.

Your role

Conduct supervision according to the Environmental Code in the areas of air quality and traffic noise. This includes, among other things:

  • Investigate environmental disturbances related to road and rail traffic
  • Process and investigate complaints about noise and air pollution to contribute to a healthy living environment
  • Follow up and drive measures to ensure that environmental quality standards for air are met
  • Review, analyze, and assess reports and documentation from operations based on the requirements of the Environmental Code
  • Maintain ongoing contact and collaboration with operations, authorities, and citizens
  • Answer questions and provide guidance to the public within the field of environmental and health protection
  • Participate in other tasks commonly occurring within environmental and health protection supervision

Your competence and experience

We are looking for you who have:

  • completed higher education in the field of environmental and health protection or equivalent education that the employer deems relevant
  • at least 1 year of work experience in supervision according to the Environmental Code, or alternatively, work with noise or air quality
  • very good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish

It is meritorious if you have:

  • experience from a politically governed organization through work

As an environmental and health protection inspector, you take responsibility for structuring, prioritizing, and independently driving your tasks forward. You show good judgment and have the ability to weigh together complex information and different considerations to make well-founded decisions from a holistic perspective. By having an open, accommodating, and problem-solving approach, you promote good collaboration. You enjoy helping others and have the ability to adapt your communication situationally and adjust to changed conditions.
