Do you want to work close to the patient in a fast-paced, broad, and strong team environment? We are now building a new Acute Care Unit (AVA) with Intermediate Care beds at Ljungby Hospital — and we are looking for you who want to be part of it from the start.

The Acute Care Unit is part of the Acute Clinic, which, together with the county's two emergency departments, forms a central part of the care for acutely ill and injured patients. Nearly 200 dedicated employees work at the clinic. We are an academic acute clinic with excellent opportunities for learning and development in everyday life.

About the AVA with Intermediate Care beds in Ljungby

The new unit aims to improve patient flow at the hospital and strengthen the care of patients who require more monitoring and treatment than what other medical areas on the hospital can offer.

In the first step, we will launch the Acute Care Unit starting in week 34. In the next step, this autumn, we will start up intermediate care beds at the unit. In total, the unit will then have 16 AVA beds and three intermediate care beds.

Here, you will encounter patients with conditions including but not limited to medicine, surgery, orthopedics, and infections. Lengths of stay are usually short, and the work is characterized by:

• rapid investigations and early decisions
• close monitoring and follow-up
• close collaboration between professions
• high but structured patient flow

Job Responsibilities

As a nurse, you work close to the patient. Clinical assessments and prioritization are a central part of the job.

Responsibilities include among other things:

• continuous monitoring and clinical assessments
• planning and coordination of patient care
• close collaboration with doctors and other professions

We are currently looking for nurses who are primarily interested in working with intermediate care patients, but as a nurse here, you will work with both intermediate care and acute care patients, depending on your competence. For further variation and competence development, there is an opportunity to combine the role with other units at the hospital. Since this is a new unit, you will receive training before the unit opens, as well as an individualized introduction and a mentor. If you are newly hired by Region Kronoberg, you will also receive a region-wide introduction.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse.

Salary: Monthly salary.
Employment type: Permanent position.
Duration: Permanent.
Working hours: Schedule. Rotational shifts according to schedule, you work both days and evenings/nights. You work 2 out of 5 weekends.
