Teacher in School Leisure Center at Rannebergsskolan in Angered
GÖTEBORGS KOMMUNVästra Götalands län, Göteborg
Previous experience is desired
Description
Do you want to work in a school leisure center (fritidshem) with its own premises, close to nature, and with a multi-purpose park right outside the door – all while making a real difference for students every day? Then Rannebergsskolan might be the right place for you.
Rannebergsskolan is a small school for grades F–3 (preschool class to grade 3) where safety, relationships, and joy in work are at the center. Here, we work closely together and create a school environment where both students and staff thrive. The school has approximately 120 students across regular school, adapted school, and three leisure centers. The school is located a 10-minute bus ride from Angered center in an area close to nature and Vättlefjäll.
In the middle of our school, we have a school library in an enclosed inner courtyard that serves as a calm and harmonious oasis, with opportunities for gardening on the balcony. There is plenty of space and areas at the school, including the Culture Workshop (music room) and our full-sized, well-equipped sports hall, which are worth mentioning.
We are located in an area where the school plays an important role – and where you as a teacher truly make a difference. It is a job that places demands on you, but also gives back in the form of relationships, development, and meaning.
During the next school year, we will have a development project via SPSM focused on strengthening learning environments for students with intellectual disabilities (IF), neurodevelopmental disorders (NPF), and speech disorders, which will permeate the entire school.
Responsibilities
As a teacher in the school leisure center, you help create a meaningful, stimulating, and developmental activity for the students – both during the school day and on leisure time. Our leisure centers have their own premises (not used as classrooms), which creates better conditions for varied and creative activities. The leisure centers also collaborate closely with each other, providing variety and strong collegial support.
In the role of a teacher in the leisure center, you are responsible for planning, implementing, and developing education in the leisure center based on current governing documents, and you are driving and involved in implementing the curriculum for the leisure center in the activity.
You will be responsible for break-time activities, and the students are looking forward to an active teacher who understands how to utilize the entire schoolyard to create meaningful breaks.
In the role of a teacher in the leisure center, you develop a broad network at the school because you follow the students throughout the day. In addition to teachers and students, you also have contact with parents and other staff. You are therefore a key function where you see the whole student and become an important part of the collaboration between the student, home, and school.
We offer an inspiring outdoor environment close to nature, forest, and movement areas, as well as a large multi-purpose park right next to the school that students love to play in and that enables year-round activities – everything from outdoor play and exploration to sledding in winter. You will join a work team with high morale and strong community, where there is also the opportunity to influence and develop the activity.
Qualifications
We are looking for you who are educated and licensed as a teacher in the school leisure center. We would appreciate it if you have Physical Education and Health as an additional subject, and thus have interest and knowledge about physical activity and health, and the importance of mixing this in during the school day.
You are well acquainted with the governing documents that regulate the leisure center's mission and are familiar with and have knowledge of how systematic quality work is conducted to develop the leisure center and students. Experience in multilingual environments is meritorious.
As a person, you are secure in your mission and take responsibility for the whole. You have good cooperation skills and create engagement and participation among students. You are flexible and see opportunities in change.
You work structured and consciously to create a learning environment inside and outside the school that challenges, creates safety, and learning. You have the ability to observe and adapt the activity to the group's needs. Your leadership is natural, and you easily create good relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues. We place great value on everyone being treated respectfully and that our activity is characterized by curiosity about each other's differences.
You take responsibility for your and the joint tasks with the activity's and students' best interests in focus. You show respect and consideration for those you meet in your professional role. You proceed from the equal value of all and create a good atmosphere in the meeting. You contribute new ideas and perspectives to work-related issues and situations that need to be resolved.
To ensure that you, as a newly graduated teacher, get the best possible start in your profession, you will be part of the Basic Education Administration's Teacher Academy's introduction for newly graduated teachers. The introduction gives you, as a newly graduated teacher, a network with other newly graduated teachers and targeted activities during your first year as a teacher.
