Are you a school counselor passionate about making the school day safer, calmer, and easier for students? Then you could be the new star in the student health team at Hagaskolan!
Who are we?
Hagaskolan is located in Nordantill and is a comprehensive school for students in grades 4–9 with approximately 450 students and 65 employees. We have 20 classes, of which 12 are music classes with a focus on choral singing. Norrköping's music classes collaborate and perform various concerts with the Norrköping Symphony Orchestra and other partners.
In addition to students' academic development, we also actively work on their personal and social development. We make student learning visible, provide feedback and formative assessment. We plan and implement differentiated instruction. We work with language and knowledge development to maximize the potential of all our students.
We care about our staff and take care of our new employees, giving them a sense of community. Experienced teachers and four lead teachers work at the school. This means that as a new employee at Hagaskolan, you will have good opportunities and qualified support to get started in your role.
Your responsibilities
As a school counselor at Hagaskolan, you are our expert in social and psychosocial support for students, guardians, and school staff. You will, among other things, have individual conversations with students and provide support in social and psychosocial matters. You will actively participate in the school's student health team, work with handling bullying cases, absence investigations, and contribute your knowledge and competence to assessments.
The role also involves leading and developing preventive and promoting initiatives, such as values-based work and well-being initiatives. The role also involves contacting guardians and collaborating with social services and other external actors. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to the school's equality work and safety efforts.
This position suits you if you want to combine independent work with close collaboration in a team.
Who are you?
We are looking for you who have a degree in social work, a bachelor's degree in behavioral science, social pedagogy, or another equivalent education. For this role, you need to have experience in counseling work, preferably in schools or with children and young people.
You need to be able to express yourself very well in Swedish, both orally and in writing, and have good computer skills, preferably in Google Workspace and M365.
We are looking for you who are secure, empathetic, and professional in your interaction with people. You have an easy time building trust and meet individuals with respect, sensitivity, and understanding for different life situations and cultural perspectives.
You work independently, take responsibility for your tasks, and are at the same time a team player who collaborates well with colleagues and other professions. You are flexible, open to new ways of working, and have a coaching approach that motivates and supports people in their development and well-being.
We welcome your application!
