Skövde Montessori is a small independent school centrally located in Skövde, with easy access to both the city and the forest. The unit is run by a non-profit association, which means we do not distribute profits – all money stays within the operations! We have approximately 100 students from preschool class to grade 6, and our preschool has about 65 children. Since we work based on Montessori pedagogy, all our classes are age-integrated, consisting of two F-2 groups, one 3-4 group, and one 5-6 group.

On our campus, there are two beautiful yellow houses housing the preschool, school, and after-school center. We work based on Maria Montessori's pedagogy, and our guiding principle is "Help me do it myself." At our unit, we want everyone to thrive and develop as much as possible. Children are born with a desire to learn, and we want to nurture that.

We currently have a permanent position available at our after-school center for preschool class, grade 1, and 2.

Our after-school center is a very important part of our operations, and our wish is for it to be a place that sparks curiosity and a love for learning. At the after-school center, care and pedagogy interact, and we actively work to ensure that the norms and values established in the curriculum permeate daily work. We view students' play as their work, which leads to increased knowledge and personal development. By starting from the children's interests and experiences, we create a learning environment that provides the conditions for a lifelong love of learning.

The educators' task is to help students develop their abilities, knowledge, and skills so that they can become independent and responsible global citizens.

Responsibilities

We are looking for an engaged and driven educator who is passionate about after-school activities and has a natural ability to see and meet each student's unique needs. You are creative and have the ability to inspire and encourage students to participate. You believe that all students can develop and learn. As a person, you are flexible, open, calm, and confident in different situations. Of course, you find it easy to collaborate and communicate with both children and adults.

You will:

• Lead the pedagogical work at the after-school center in close collaboration with your colleagues and students.
• Plan, implement, and evaluate teaching in accordance with current governing documents.
• Be responsible for developing and driving the after-school activities forward.
• Work with recess activities together with our TL (Special Needs) students.
• Work as one of three educators in one of our F-2 groups.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who:

• Is a certified teacher in after-school pedagogy/fritidspedagog.
• Has a genuine interest in children's learning and development, as well as a desire to further develop your professional competence.
• Has strong leadership skills and can create positive, long-lasting relationships with students, colleagues, and guardians.
• Is a team player who values collaboration and community.
• Has previous experience in similar work – experience is meritorious, but personal suitability weighs heavily.

Interviews are conducted on a rolling basis.

Start date: August 1, 2026, or by agreement.
