In Gällivare Municipality, we have a unit responsible for all authority exercises within the social services. We are now looking for social workers who wish to work with authority exercises concerning children and young people.

Responsibilities

As a social secretary in the Children and Young People's department, you will primarily work with SoL (Social Services Act) and LVU (Care of Young Persons Act). You work with families based on received reports or applications from guardians or young people. Your duties include follow-up for children and young people in open interventions implemented by outpatient care, as well as follow-ups of placements in foster homes and residential care homes (HVB).

We strive to support families at an early stage, and as far as possible, we work with home-based solutions. The role involves collaboration with other colleagues within our unit, as well as internal and external cooperation.

Qualifications

We are looking for you with a degree in Social Work. As a social worker, you should have good knowledge of current legislation and a humanistic view of humanity. Meritorious experience includes previous work experience, training in BBIC, MI, Sign of Safety, child interviews, or other relevant advanced knowledge.

You must be able to work independently but also thrive in group collaboration and maintain good relationships. You are service-oriented, solution-focused, and flexible, as the work may involve acute decision-making. You need to be confident in yourself, able to set boundaries, and have a professional attitude. Personal suitability is of great importance.

Requirement: Class B driver's license.

In the event of employment, an extract from the police criminal record is required.

Under the National Minority Languages Act, Gällivare Municipality is the administrative municipality for Sami, Meänkieli, and Finnish. Knowledge of any of these languages is meritorious when applying for employment in Gällivare Municipality.

Working Hours/Duration

Full-time, permanent employment. The position includes on-call duties.
