Study and Career Counselor for Gullspång Municipality

As a study and career counselor, you are part of the central Child and Student Health Service. You work targeted towards the municipality's three primary schools. In the main town of Gullspång, there is a preschool to year 6 school and a year 7 to 9 school. In the main town of Hova, there is a preschool to year 6 school. Your main workplace is located at the year 7 to 9 school in Gullspång.

The central Child and Student Health Service includes the professions of school counselor, school nurse, and special education teacher. In your role, you collaborate closely with these professionals to best meet the holistic perspective regarding each student.

RESPONSIBILITIES

You will guide students, both individually and in groups. You will provide information about upper secondary school choices and offer guidance to students and guardians. You will inform our students about the education system, working life, and the labor market. You have an important task where you help students plan for future studies and, through coaching, motivate them to move forward during their education and during work placements (practicum). As a study and career counselor (SYV), your role includes supporting other school staff in their study and career counseling-related activities.

As a study and career counselor, you are the school's face to the business community. You actively participate in collaboration forums where the business community and other stakeholders are represented. You work to strengthen and develop collaboration between school and working life, as well as to integrate study and career counseling into daily teaching. You work based on the existing study and career counseling plan but also with the development of the plan to better meet future needs.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who are studying to be, or are already educated as, a study and career counselor, or have other education that can be considered equivalent. We expect you to have good IT skills and good communication skills, both verbal and written. A B-class driver's license is a requirement.

As a person, you have a good manner of dealing with others; you are empathetic and can quickly put yourself in someone else's perspective or situation. You are good at structuring and prioritizing your work and can see opportunities in changes. Furthermore, you are creative and often come up with ideas and new approaches to work-related issues.

Great importance will be attached to personal suitability.
