About the Job

This amanuens position is linked to the VR project https://www.vr.se/english/swecris.html#/project/2025-04112_VR (https://www.vr.se/english/swecris.html#/project/2025-04112_VR). The tasks include systematizing, classifying, quality reviewing, and cataloging bibliographic information about Swedish comic artists from databases such as Libris, Swedish Media Database, Alex Author Lexicon, Retriever, etc.

We are looking for an amanuens who can handle and process data, but who also has a genuine interest in comic art, literature, and cultural values. The work involves creating a collective biography of the Swedish comic field, which requires both a source-critical eye for detail and the ability to structure variables around artistic success. By contributing to the creation of a collective biography of the Swedish comic field, you make a concrete contribution to research and gain unique insights into an ongoing digital humanities research project.

About You

To be employed as an amanuens, you must be admitted to a university education at the first or second cycle level. We are looking for someone whose interests lie at the intersection of data and culture, with experience in information management and the ability to work with large datasets.

  • have some knowledge of collective biography methods and feel comfortable combining historical source studies with large-scale information management.

It is meritorious if you have:

  • previous experience in research assistant work involving data collection, quantitative methods, and statistics.
  • good knowledge of the comic field, comic research, Swedish literature, and popular culture.
