The Environmental and Health Protection Unit is now looking for an engaged and independent Environmental and Health Protection Inspector. The unit is part of the Environmental and Urban Planning Department, which has approximately 40 employees. Here, competencies within environmental and health protection, food, building permits, planning, housing adaptation, as well as mapping and surveying issues are gathered. Together, we work broadly with societal issues, supported by a coordinating staff function that creates structure and a holistic view.

Here, you will become part of a team of seven people working with supervision within the scope of the Environmental Code. You will have an important role with the opportunity to influence how supervision is planned and carried out, and to contribute to our quality work. The unit also includes strategists within climate, nature, and water. This provides an inspiring work environment with close collaboration and ongoing knowledge exchange.

Job Responsibilities

In the role of Environmental and Health Protection Inspector, your main tasks will include:

  • planning and conducting supervision of environmentally hazardous operations, such as workshops, gas stations, boat clubs, and stormwater facilities
  • processing cases within contaminated areas, including PFAS
  • processing incoming cases such as notifications and complaints, etc.

The work is varied and involves a combination of independent work and collaboration with colleagues. Together, we contribute to fulfilling our supervision plan. We work in the case management system Ecos 2.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have a university education in environmental and health protection, environmental science, or other relevant natural science education. For the position, we consider the following to be meritorious:

  • several years of experience in supervision within the environmental protection area
  • good knowledge of Ecos
  • very good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written
  • Class B driver's license

You are a structured and independent person who takes responsibility and drives the work forward. You are engaged in both your tasks and your colleagues, and actively contribute to a positive work environment. You have a solution-oriented approach to complex issues and make well-founded decisions. The role involves many contacts with businesses and Lidingö residents, which requires a high level of service orientation and professional handling.

The municipality applies individual salary setting. Start date as agreed.
