About Us

Strömsskolan is beautifully located on the west side of the river in a nature-rich area that invites outdoor teaching. We are a growing school with currently around 350 students. We work in year groups, which means we plan, implement, analyze, and evaluate teaching together within the year group, with high flexibility in grouping students in different configurations based on needs, interests, support, or challenge.

An active effort regarding inclusion is central to our school; all students should feel seen and have the opportunity to influence their school day. We invest in "active recesses" led by staff and students to increase student interaction and provide opportunities for varied activities.

Collaboration and cooperation, a "we-feeling" where all professions are included, are the watchwords for our school, all with the student's best interests in mind.

Your Role

The school currently has three after-school care (fritidshem) departments:

• two for younger students
• one for older students

As a primary teacher in after-school care, you will be part of a work team together with other employees at the unit.

The position involves working both in school and at the after-school care center, giving you a holistic perspective on the students' development and learning throughout the day.

We see the complementary learning mission of the after-school care center as a central part of the students' development and goal achievement. Through teaching that starts from the students' needs, interests, and experiences, we want to spark curiosity and inspire new discoveries.

All activities at the after-school care center are grounded in the curriculum to ensure high quality and equal education.

It is an advantage if you have a qualifying degree in a practical-aesthetic subject, preferably art.

Who are you?

• You are a qualified teacher in after-school care with qualifications to teach in a practical-aesthetic subject.
• You have social competence and are independent with a sense of responsibility.
• You must be able to provide a clean certificate from the Swedish Police Authority (police record).
• As an employee in Lilla Edet Municipality, you have good digital skills and use digital tools in a safe and flexible way in everyday life.
• Previous experience from working in after-school care activities and school is an advantage.

We expect a great commitment to the assignment and that you are driven by the opportunity to develop after-school activities. It is also important that you have a desire to develop together with other colleagues at the school, both after-school staff and school staff, always with a focus on maximizing our students' opportunities for development.
