About Us

Strömsskolan is beautifully located on the western side of the river in a nature-rich area that invites outdoor teaching. We are a growing school with currently around 350 students. We work in year groups, which means we plan, implement, analyze, and evaluate teaching together within the year group, with high flexibility in grouping students into different configurations based on needs, interests, support, or challenges.

An active approach to combating exclusion is central to our school. All students should feel seen and have the opportunity to influence their school day. We invest in "active breaks" led by staff and students to increase interaction among students and provide opportunities for varied activities.

Collaboration and cooperation, a "we-feeling" where all professions are included, are the keywords for our school – everything with the student's best interests in mind.

Your Role

With a focus on varied and stimulating teaching, safety, and study environment, we at Strömsskolan strive for all our students to reach their maximum individual capacity, in harmony with the group's development.

You will work closely in a year-group team where daily work is carried out jointly with other staff attached to the year group. You should be flexible in how students are grouped, depending on the need for support or challenge. You will also be part of a working group within grades F-3, where the year groups meet on a weekly basis.

We have a strong support organization through our student health services, where special needs teachers work together with counselors and pedagogues to ensure the right support and motivation-enhancing teaching for our students. We work with PALS (Pedagogical Analysis, Leadership, and Collaboration) to develop a common approach. The core idea is that we create positive expectations and build trusting relationships together with students and guardians.

The most important component for a successful, motivating, and challenging school experience is professional educators. With our work at Strömsskolan, we want to give students the very best prerequisites for further studies and equip them to act as democratic citizens in our society.

Who are you?

• You are a qualified and licensed primary school teacher.
• You have social competence and are independent with a strong sense of responsibility.
• As an employee in Lilla Edet Municipality, you have good digital skills and use digital tools in a secure and flexible way in everyday life.
• Previous experience working as a teacher is an advantage.

We expect openness and a high level of commitment to the role. There should be a desire to develop together with other colleagues at the school. A prerequisite is that you view the year group's students as a shared responsibility, in collaboration with other staff around the year group. You should find it easy to cooperate and be familiar with IT.

We place great emphasis on personal qualities and see you as a leader who can adapt your leadership and classroom teaching to the situation.

You must be able to present a valid extract from the criminal record.
