Your Role

Do you want to inspire children and young people to discover and develop their musical talents? Do you have clarinet and/or saxophone as your main instrument and wish to become part of a creative and dedicated cultural school? Then you might be the one we are looking for.

The Cultural School in Söderhamn is seeking a woodwind teacher in clarinet and/or saxophone. The position is a permanent full-time role (100%), but a lower percentage can be discussed if the applicant desires. The start date is for the autumn term of 2026.

As a woodwind teacher, you will teach clarinet and/or saxophone, both individually and in groups. You will plan and conduct lessons that inspire, engage, and challenge students based on their different prerequisites and goals.

The role also involves participating in and developing ensemble and orchestra activities, as well as collaborating with colleagues regarding concerts, performances, projects, and other joint activities. Teaching may take place both at the Cultural School's premises and at other locations within the municipality.

Teaching takes place during daytime, evenings, and some afternoons. Weekend work may occur in connection with concerts, performances, projects, and other events.

Your Qualifications

We are looking for someone who:

• is an engaged, creative, and responsive educator with the ability to inspire children and young people in their musical development
• is confident in teaching clarinet and/or saxophone, both individually and in groups
• has relevant higher education in music, pedagogical education, or other education/experience that the employer deems equivalent
• has experience in teaching or other pedagogical work with children and young people
• is collaborative and contributes to a positive work climate
• is flexible, responsible, and accustomed to planning, conducting, and developing teaching based on the needs of the activity
• has good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written
• has competence in several woodwind instruments
• has experience in ensemble or orchestra teaching
• has experience in group teaching and teaching younger children
• has the possibility, if space permits in the role, to teach piano at a basic level
• can also teach transverse flute/recorder
