Consultant – Investment Controller

About the Company

Tidaholm Municipality is the contracting authority for this assignment. The assignment is located within the municipality's unit for Finance and Business Control, centrally situated at the Municipal Administration Office in the Town Hall in Tidaholm.

The unit is responsible for the overarching work regarding accounting, financing, budgeting, follow-up, and procurement.

About the Role

Tidaholm Municipality is seeking an Investment Controller to cover a temporary staffing need. The assignment covers 50% of a full-time position, with the possibility of increasing hours during periods of high demand.

As an Investment Controller, you will be responsible for leading overarching financial processes and providing support to managers and project leaders through in-depth analyses and quality assurance of reports. You will become part of the municipality's controller team within the Finance and Business Control unit.

The consultant must be able to work on-site at the Town Hall in Tidaholm. Some possibility for remote work may exist upon agreement and approval.

Role and Responsibilities

As an Investment Controller, you will among other things:

• Be responsible for developing project budgets, calculations, forecasts, and business planning
• Be responsible for ongoing follow-up through analysis of financial outcomes and key performance indicators (KPIs)
• Lead the work with status reporting for projects
• Be responsible for developing investment calculations and conducting financial reviews of decision-making materials
• Drive work within the framework of the municipality's processes, guidelines, and policies
• Drive business development related to finance and business control
• Lead educational activities regarding, among other things, forecasting, the investment process, and business systems
• Contribute both strategically and operationally to financial work
• Provide proactive support to managers and project leaders
• Physically participate in establishment meetings with business owners, municipal administration, and political leadership

Competency Requirements

We expect you to meet all the following mandatory requirements, which should be clearly reflected in your CV:

• At least a three-year university degree in economics, or equivalent
• Experience from the public sector, politically governed organizations, municipal sector, and primary municipalities
• Experience in qualified controller work within the public sector, urban planning, contracting, or complex investment projects
• Very good knowledge of the Office package
• Experience working independently and making decisions to the extent required by the assignment
• Proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written
• Experience and ability to drive the development and improvement of processes

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience and good knowledge of using BI systems are highly meritorious

Assignment Information

• Assignment Period: 17/8 2026 – 15/2 2027
• Extension Option: Up to 6 months
• Scope: 50%, with possibility of extension if needed
• Location: Tidaholm
• Workplace: Town Hall in Tidaholm
• Remote Work: Possible upon agreement and approval
