About the position

Do you want a rewarding part-time job where you motivate and support a person in their rehabilitation? We are currently looking for an escort/companion for a gentleman who has suffered a stroke. Exercise is his absolute priority, and he is currently wholeheartedly focused on regaining his strength.

The training takes place at Friskis & Svettis in Tannefors (Linköping). There are physiotherapists on-site, but since the sessions are often crowded, he needs his own companion to give him full attention and practical help.

Your main task is to be a support in the gym. This involves:

  • Meeting at the reception at 10:00 AM.
  • Helping to set up exercise machines and handling weights.
  • Being a social and pleasant companion during the session.

The assignment is not complicated; he is very articulate and clearly explains what help he needs during the workout.

He arrives at the gym via transport service around 09:30–10:00 AM and does not need assistance getting on or off the vehicle. After the session, he waits in the reception where the driver picks him up.

The training times are fixed and scheduled for:

  • Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays
  • 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM (Your assignment is during these two hours)

This amounts to a total of 6 hours per week at the gym. The remaining hours during the month (approximately 4 hours) are saved and can be used freely for other activities based on his wishes.

Employment level: 17% of full-time. The position comprises a total of 28 hours of escort service per month.

About you

For this position, your age or gender does not matter. The most important thing is who you are as a person:

  • You have an interest in exercise: You enjoy the gym environment and are happy to help with weights and equipment.

We are looking for someone who enjoys working with people and has the ability to understand and meet individuals' different needs. You are attentive, proactive, solution-oriented, and engaged. Personal suitability will be given great weight.

Qualifications:

  • Advantageous: Experience with rehabilitation or supporting people who have suffered a stroke is a plus, but your personality and social skills weigh the heaviest.

Things to consider before applying:

A prerequisite for starting employment at Olivia is that you can present a valid ID and submit a background check (personbevis) as well as any documents proving your right to work in Sweden. You can easily download the background check from the Swedish Tax Agency's website.

Due to the fact that the position may involve solo work, night work, and tasks that, according to the Swedish Work Environment Authority's regulations (AFS 2012:3), cannot be performed by minors, you must be at least 18 years old.

If you wish to work with children and young people under 18, you need to present an extract from the criminal record. It is important to order the extract in good time, as the Police's processing time may vary. Due to a legislative change from March 1, 2026, the register check will be expanded to include both extracts from the criminal record and extracts from the suspicion register.
