Are you our new support assistant who wants to work with elderly citizens in central Östersund? We are now expanding our staff team to one of our LSS group homes in central Östersund. Six citizens with varying needs for support and help in their daily lives currently reside in this LSS group home. Currently, eleven support assistants and support staff work with elderly citizens who have different needs for support and care in their daily lives. The work is characterized by security, respect, and a person-centered approach where every individual receives the support needed to live as independent and meaningful a life as possible.

We are looking for you who have a genuine interest in working with older people and who thrive in an operation where relationships, care, and cooperation are important parts of the work. We would like you to have previous experience of care work, work within elderly care, or with people with disabilities. If you also have experience within psychiatry, it is meritorious.

The position is permanent, full-time, 100%. Working hours are currently scheduled according to a laundry shift schedule on weekdays and weekends 07:00 - 21:00. Night work is currently not an option. Working hours may change based on the operation's needs and conditions.

Your new job

In the role of support assistant within LSS, you work closely with our citizens in their daily lives with a focus on security, participation, and independence. The tasks are varied and include among other things care and support, cleaning and laundry, as well as support during meals and other daily situations. You also accompany citizens to various types of visits, such as to the dentist or hospital, and participate in activities that contribute to a meaningful leisure time, such as dancing and other social activities. To succeed in this task, you need to feel confident in care work and be able to take on delegations such as for insulin. You also need to be confident in meeting people who may have different needs or challenging behaviors.

To create good conditions for work, the staff group receives continuous supervision and support from our operational support. Collaboration with licensed personnel, such as physiotherapists and occupational therapists, is a natural part of the task. You also have contact and cooperation with guardians and relatives to ensure good support around each citizen.

Your competence

Requirements

• Trained assistant nurse or support assistant
• Good knowledge of Swedish in both speech and writing
• Good computer skills

• Experience of work within LSS operations
• Experience of working with the elderly
• Experience of work within psychiatry
• System familiarity in one or more of our systems: Viva, MCSS or DF-Respons
