Organization Description
The Adapted Primary School covers grades 1–9 and is located at Hedskolan and Sjöparksskolan. The staff includes special educators/special teachers and teaching assistants.
We provide education adapted to students with intellectual disabilities. The teaching is based on each student's individual needs and prerequisites.
An after-school center (fritidshem) is available within the organization.
Job Responsibilities
You will assist a student or a group of students who may have various physical or social needs. Together with the teacher in the classroom, you will help ensure that all students reach their goals. You will support and care for the student during activities both at school and at the after-school center, in close collaboration with teachers and the student's guardians.
You will also work at the after-school center, which is part of the organization, during opening hours and/or after school ends.
Qualifications
We are looking for you who have a secondary education or other education that the employer assesses as equivalent. It is meritorious if you have knowledge of or experience working with individuals who have neurodevelopmental disorders (NPF). As a person, you should have a present and attentive approach to students' different needs, create engagement and participation, be a clear leader, and have good collaboration skills. You are independent, responsible, and quick to take initiative. We develop our work through pedagogical dialogues and collegial learning, seeing it as a strength to help each other and dare to be curious about new ways of working.
A certificate of good conduct (extract from the police register) is required before employment.
Personal suitability is given great weight.
In accordance with the National Minority Language Act, Gällivare Municipality is the administrative municipality for Sami, Meänkieli, and Finnish. Knowledge of any of these languages is meritorious when applying for employment in Gällivare Municipality.
Working Hours/Duration
Full-time, permanent position. Probationary period may apply.
Salary
Monthly salary; we apply individual salary setting – please state your salary expectations in your application.
