Here, we create sustainable solutions for students with complex needs through close collaboration, joint analysis, and a strong holistic perspective. Our daily work is characterized by trust, professionalism, and a clear desire to make a real difference together. We look forward to receiving your application!

Nannaskolan is a lower secondary school and Uppsala's only aesthetic primary school, where traditional teaching is combined with aesthetic subjects such as music, dance, art & design, crafts, and drama. The school is characterized by a creative, open, and inclusive culture where students and staff are encouraged to express themselves, take up space, and develop based on their own prerequisites.

At Nannaskolan, music, dance, and performances are a natural part of everyday life, contributing to a vibrant and inspiring learning environment. The school shares premises with the Cultural School and has close cooperation with both the Cultural School and Uppsala Esthetic Upper Secondary School, which further strengthens the aesthetic profile.

The school has a well-functioning student support team and a dedicated teaching staff that works systematically to adapt teaching to students' different needs. Collaboration, well-being, and knowledge development are at the center of the operations, and the staff is characterized by a shared responsibility for students' learning and well-being.

The school is also known for its award-winning school restaurant, where food is prepared from scratch by their own chefs and is seen as an important part of the students' school day. As a workplace, you are offered a positive and development-oriented environment with good opportunities for collaboration, influence, and professional development, in a school where creativity, structure, and care go hand in hand.

Description of Duties

As a special needs teacher in the FLEX team, you work with students who need support in a smaller teaching context, where the groups have different orientations, needs, and pedagogical prerequisites. The assignment combines practical teaching with pedagogical leadership and mentoring responsibilities, with the goal of creating structure, security, and increased goal achievement for students with complex needs.

The assignment includes:

  • Leading and being responsible for the pedagogical work in the FLEX team, focusing on the quality of teaching, progression, and students' goal achievement
  • Planning, implementing, and following up on teaching and adapted support measures in accordance with governing documents and individual goals
  • Ensuring a clear, structured, and predictable learning environment in the smaller context
  • Following up on students' knowledge development and contributing to assessment and follow-up in collaboration with subject teachers
  • Working in pedagogical collaboration with various subject teachers, where teaching, goals, and adaptations are coordinated around the student
  • Providing pedagogical guidance to colleagues within the FLEX team and to relevant staff, focusing on working methods, adaptations, and handling of students with complex needs
  • Collaborating cross-professionally with other professions included in the FLEX team, such as resources related to flexible time, student support, and other professions available at the school
  • Participating in collaboration with professions and actors outside the school, such as guardians and external support measures, to create a cohesive support structure around the student
  • Being responsible for pedagogical documentation, joint analysis, and follow-up of students' needs and development.

The assignment requires clear pedagogical leadership combined with the ability to teach, mentor, and collaborate. The work in the FLEX team is based on shared responsibility, cross-professional collaboration, and a holistic perspective on the student.
