About the position

As an administrator for school transportation, you are responsible for the municipality's consolidated school bus operations. The assignment includes planning, coordination, and processing of cases, as well as contract management. The role involves exercising public authority, and you make decisions in accordance with current legislation, primarily the Education Act and the Administrative Procedure Act.

The work also includes preparing and handling appeals, as well as working strategically with follow-up, quality assurance, and the development of routines, working methods, and documentation. You also contribute to budget work related to the operations.

An important part of the position is dialogue and collaboration with guardians, principals, contractors, as well as other internal and external partners.

The position also includes serving as the municipality's contact person for Västra Götaland Region (Västtrafik) regarding public transport.

The position is a permanent full-time employment with a start date as soon as possible or as agreed.

Responsibilities

In the role of school transportation administrator, you are responsible for, among other things:

• Planning and optimizing school bus routes and logistics
• Processing and making decisions in cases regarding school transportation
• Monitoring the operations through control functions and statistics
• Performing registration and documentation work
• Collaborating with actors within regional public transport and the contracted contractor.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have:

• A university degree in areas such as administration, economics, or logistics, or other education or experience that the employer deems equivalent
• Experience and good understanding of administrative systems, preferably within economic and student administration
• Experience with exercising public authority and making decisions according to current regulations
• Very good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written
• Good computer skills and experience working in administrative systems
• Good knowledge of the Office package
• Class B driver's license

It is meritorious if you have:

• Knowledge of the Education Act and the Administrative Procedure Act
• Experience working within the public sector
• Previous experience in school transportation administration
• Knowledge of the business system Vega
