Regional Development Manager for Workplace-Based Learning (APL) at Praktiska Gymnasiet
Do you want to help develop the future of vocational education in Sweden? At Praktiska Gymnasiet, we train the vocational workers of the future in industries where there is a high demand for competence. Through close cooperation with working life and a strong focus on workplace-based learning (APL), we give our students the right conditions to succeed both during their studies and in working life after graduation.
Praktiska Gymnasiet is Sweden's largest upper secondary vocational school and is currently located in 32 towns across the country. Our keywords, ambition, strength, and drive, permeate the entire operation.
About the Role
A little over a year ago, Praktiska Gymnasiet launched a national initiative to strengthen and develop workplace-based learning in our schools. Since then, a national APL team has been established, working with a focus on quality, equity, and stronger collaboration between schools and working life.
A well-functioning APL is central to creating an attractive and successful vocational school. Our initiative continues, and we are now looking for a Regional Development Manager for APL for one of our regions in southern Sweden.
If you find APL an exciting field, this is one of the most developmental and influential roles you can have within Swedish vocational education today. Here, you will have the opportunity to work closely with both schools and working life and help shape how the vocational education of the future functions in practice.
You will become part of our national APL team and work together with other regional development managers under the leadership of the National APL Coordinator. The role involves both strategic and operational work where you support schools in developing long-term and high-quality processes.
Your Assignment
As a Regional Development Manager for APL, you work closely with school leaders, vocational teachers, and local APL coordinators to strengthen the quality and develop the structure around APL in our schools in the region.
In this role, you will among other things:
- support schools in quality and development work within APL,
- contribute to a more equitable and structured APL operation in the region,
- educate and guide vocational teachers and local APL coordinators,
- develop collaboration with working life and strengthen relationships with industries and companies,
- contribute to the implementation of routines, working methods, and system support,
- drive and follow up on development initiatives related to APL,
- support schools with special challenges or urgent needs related to the APL operation.
The work is carried out both digitally and on-site at the schools, which involves regular travel within the region.
We are looking for you who
Have experience in:
- workplace-based learning (APL)
- upper secondary vocational education
- school development and change management
- collaboration between schools and working life
You are relationship-building, structured, and confident in leading development work together with others. You thrive in a role where you can combine strategic thinking with practical and operational support for the business.
You have a good understanding of the regulations and guidelines for upper secondary schools, as well as strong communication skills in both speech and writing. You are accustomed to leading training sessions and workshops.
It is meritorious if you have previously worked within upper secondary vocational education or had a coordinating role related to APL.
We offer collectively agreed benefits and insurance, wellness benefits, and opportunities for experience exchange within both Praktiska Gymnasiet and AcadeMedia.
Other Information
The position is a fixed-term employment for 12 months. Start date is by agreement.
Since the work involves close cooperation with schools in the region, travel, both day trips and overnight stays, is a natural part of the assignment.
Location by agreement within southern Sweden.
We conduct ongoing selection and interviews, so please submit your application as soon as possible. We warmly welcome your application and invite you to help shape the future of vocational education!
