About the School

Ahlafors Free School is a Montessori-inspired school located in Alafors, Ale Municipality. Here, students have made an active choice and therefore have high expectations of their school. Our school is small and cozy, with 290 students from preschool class to grade 9, divided into 12 teaching groups. The school also has an after-school center and school club with activities before and after school hours. We are keen on combining theory with practice and have two profile areas: creativity and sports. The proximity to nature and sports facilities means that many activities take place outdoors. About the Job

We are looking for you who have experience as a teacher and are qualified to teach several subjects at the middle school level (grades 4–6). You find joy in meeting students based on all their differences, personalities, and abilities, and you want to challenge them to develop in their learning and as individuals. You see yourself as a natural driving force in creating good conditions for student learning. As a teacher here, you are responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating student learning, and you serve as the class teacher/mentor for our grade 4 class. You are aware of your own impact on student learning. Based on student results, research, and proven experience, you follow up on the quality of teaching, reflect, and evaluate with the aim of developing students' learning environments.

You enjoy collaborating and are accustomed to interacting with children, parents, and colleagues in a professional manner. You are aware and clear in your pedagogical leadership and have the ability to create a good working environment. You are creative, proactive, and structured in your approach to work. You collaborate with colleagues to develop yourself, your teaching, and the school's pedagogical work.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a certified teacher with the qualification to teach in grades 4–6.

You are/have:

• Experience in planning, implementing, and evaluating the quality of teaching.
• A relational approach and are a clear leader in the classroom.
• A clear student focus characterized by a strong belief in all students' desire to succeed.
• Flexibility and good collaboration skills, with an ease in creating good relationships and collaborating with students, guardians, work teams, the school's student health team, and school leadership.

Scope: Full-time

Duration: Fixed-term from 2026-08-15 to 2027-06-17 with the possibility of extension
