At Realgymnasiet Trollhättan, we are now looking for an engaged and driven teacher in animal healthcare who wants to help develop our program and make a real difference for our students. We are in the midst of exciting development work where we want to move teaching from being more theoretical to becoming more practical, realistic, and even more relevant for the students' future careers in the industry.

As a teacher at Realgymnasiet, you create the conditions for learning and guide students based on the program's educational goals. You plan, conduct, and evaluate teaching, and continuously work on monitoring students' development and goal achievement. You collaborate closely with colleagues, mentors, and student health services, and are an important part of creating a safe, engaging, and developmental learning environment.

You will teach the subjects Animal Care in Animal Health and Disease 1 and 2, Dog Knowledge 1, Cat Knowledge 1, as well as the course Ethology, Training, and Enrichment in year 2 and 3.

The groups consist of approximately eight students who have actively chosen this specialization based on their great interest in animals and animal healthcare. This creates good opportunities to build strong relationships and engaging learning where students want, can, and dare to develop.

The position is a permanent employment for the school year 26/27 with a working time of 60%. We apply a probation period of 6 months.

Qualifications

To be considered for the assignment, we see that you have:

• Education in animal healthcare, for example as an animal healthcare assistant or veterinarian.
• It is meritorious if you have teacher certification or previous experience of teaching at the upper secondary level.
• You need to have good experience working with companion animals. In the animal rooms, we have access to various rodents, birds, reptiles, and fish. These are school animals, and handling and caring for them is a very important part of the students' learning.
