Our School, Berghultskolan

We are a relatively new F-9 school located in Floda, with nature as our neighbor. The school is nicely situated next to a school forest and has a very good schoolyard that allows for good break activities and movement throughout the day for our students.

The school is characterized by a collaborative climate with care for each other. We value having fun together and that our employees also leave school with energy.

Several of our employees commute from both Gothenburg and Alingsås. Public transport is available directly adjacent to the school.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Berghultskolan is looking for an engaged and creative teacher with a special interest in the subject of technology. We are looking for you who want to create, test, build, and develop teaching together with the students and who see technology as a subject where curiosity, problem-solving, and practical learning can take place.

We want our technology education to be practical, investigative, and relevant to the students' daily lives and future. This can involve construction, programming, design processes, sustainability, innovation, digital technology, additive manufacturing, or other areas where students get to test ideas and develop solutions.

The assignment is to develop teaching at the school together with colleagues, where students get to work creatively, practically, and entrepreneurially in technology as well as in Science and Mathematics.

Since Berghultskolan is a smaller school, collegial collaboration is particularly important. You will work closely with other Math/Science teachers and be part of a subject collegium where joint planning, joint assessment, experience sharing, and development of teaching are central parts.

The position includes teaching in Technology, Science (NO), and Mathematics.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who are a certified teacher with qualifications in technology, Science (NO), and Mathematics. You have a strong interest in the subject of technology and the subject of physics.

You are a confident and engaged leader in the classroom. You have the ability to capture students' interest, create participation, and build teaching where students feel that their ideas, questions, and solutions matter.

We believe you enjoy working with projects, problem-solving, and realistic tasks. You want to create teaching that is not just about learning about technology, but also about using technology, understanding technology, and developing technical solutions.

You also see the value of collegial learning. As a teacher at a smaller school, you need to be able to work independently and be an active part of close subject collaboration. You generously contribute ideas, experiences, and materials, while being curious about how colleagues think and work.

The assignment includes being a mentor for students in grades 7-9, so great importance is placed on personal suitability related to the work team and mentoring.
